How long have the motor been sitting with the valve cover off?

well i dont know how long its been with out a cover but there no rust its really clean. it was my cuz engine he purchased it from honda connect that was about 9 months ago and i have had it in a trunk of and rx7 4 3 month so i have not cranked the motor
