Old Honda

I saw this the other day, I was driving down Baker Rd. and I saw this sitting at the advanced auto parts. I believe it is a Honda CVCC, but what year is it?

Is it someone on this sites??

It looks like a Honda N600. It would not be a CVCC. You should check out my post about how not all 1st gen Honda Civics are called CVCCs. Later, QD.

No, it was a model too. The 1200cc and 1500cc civics have the same styling but the 1500cc cars are just a hair larger Longer doors, longer hood, longer fenders. The 1500cc cars are called CVCC's. Basically a "Super Beetle" version of the Civic 1200.:goodjob:

The car in the pics is an N600 as QD said. Its much smaller than eithe the 1200 Civic or the CVCC Civic. The 600's have 2 cylinder 600cc engines based on Honda's motorcycle engines. Because they are so lightweight, electric conversions are popular, and there have been a few with Goldwing and other big cruiser engine swaps.

you also failed to mention they were air-cooled. and as far as i'm aware there are no models that were plainly called the Honda CVCC. i would like to see some proof of this, if its true.

There is your proof. My car is a 1979 Honda Civic CVCC. There were 1974-79 Honda Civics (featuring the 1200 engine) and 1975-1979 Honda Civic CVCCs (featuring 1500 engines). Later, QD.

QD, come on now. i know there is a civic & accord CVCC. i've even got an Accord CVCC. but the way he was talking, he made it sound like there is a Honda CVCC. and there isnt a car thats named just a CVCC. its a Civic CVCC or Accord CVCC for example.

i guess we both misunderstood each other then. but i'm working on it! fast-tech is supposed to bring a hoist by my house this weekend so i get the motor out. i'm going to drop a D15 in it. i have the entire swap sitting in my garage. including a nice shiny intake manifold.:D haha. still down for lowering it?

A 1200 will have fender badges that say "Honda Civic 1200" and a 1500 will have fender badges that say "Honda Civic CVCC". Then theres also the fact that the 1200 and CVCC Civics share practically no body panels. You can't interchange body parts like the doors, fenders, or hoods between them because the CVCC is a bigger car.

No need for the harsh attitude man. I think we are in agreement here. While they are both Civic's the people on the old school Honda forums (that I was posting on back in 1999 BTW) refer to the CVCC equipped cars as "CVCC's" to differentiate them from the 1200's. While it may not be a seperate model the CVCC designation is used to seperate the 1500 cars from the 1200 cars. Thats all I was saying. No need to get pissy. :screwy:
