Hey guys,

How well does an 06 Goat run on 87? I'd love to hear from someone who uses 87 every day.

The CR is 10.9 which is still pretty high so I'm hesitant. The manual says "Premium fuel recommended" - but not required?
Thanks!

If you're wonder why, well I have a simple response.

16MPG. Even my Z06 does better lol (~18/19)

Because the GTO weighs about 500 lbs more...hahaha.

I'd imagine it'd be fine being that it's a newer car, so it'd be equipped with knock sensors. It won't make full power, but it'll run without an issue...right?

my understanding is that the car is tuned for 93 but it is safe to run on 87. I would run it on 93 tho

Really? What's the compression on the motor?

If you can find a few gallons of E85 it'll help with the knock on 87. A lot of boosted subies are using this because they can't find premium

Compression is 10.9 to 1.

Well it looks like the gas situation is OK now.
The pipelines are running again at full capacity and its only a matter of days before we'll be back up and running.

But this was a good reminder that we need to get off the sinking boat of oil dependency.
