at the shop my parents used to own we had stuff that you could just spray on the engine and all the grime and shit just dripped off n you would just have to give it a quick spray. but i guess the EPA had a problem with that stuff or something. what else works in yall's opinions?

simple green works great...just be extra careful where you spray water and any chemicals in the engine bay.

simple green dis-colors some things under the hood.. it did on my AEM intake, and DC headers...

well then i guess just make sure everything is cooled down before you put any chemicals on it...and maybe do a little test section first???

Take any liquid degreaser, water it down at least 50%, and spray it on...greased lighning, simple green, or whatever. The foaming spray stuff like Gunk works well to, I've used it on tons of things before but not on my current vehicle...no way to dilute it and i'd go nuts if it discolored the aluminum.

lol there was a post i saw about some guy spraying simple green on his motor... undiluted.... getting a shit load of it in his plug gaps and destroying his motor.

Think it was on the srt4 forums... and maybe someone posted up about it on here before the site went down.

i use purple power degreaser diluted 50%...it works great, i do it once a month...when we pulled auxiliary's motor in his 240 we used straight simple green not diluted and a pressure washer to get all the grime out of the engine bay...it worked great.

i have also used that gunk foamy engine bright on a few cars ive cleaned..it works good too i just hate the smell of it..smells like gasoline.

after your engine is dry..spray on some CD2 engine detailer spray...that stuff will make it look brand new

Get some Honda Brite (degreaser) spray it on and pressure wash it off. Works beautifully.

i worked in an quick lube for a couple months we used some green acid-based degreaser that worked good as shit. only clean motor when cool, and if you use strong degreaser rinse off quickly and well , the acid if dried will leave behind a white residue on metal and can dry out hoses.
