View Full Version : My First Mod!

Well, this is my first mod except for lowering my ride.

Its a J's Racing Air Duct! I know it ain't much but I was pretty estatic considering this is by far the most "JDM" piece I've ever bought. It came with a hefty price tag but all in all, I'm super satisfied. The quality is awesome, and the function is there. I opened my hood after driving for about 20 minutes last night and before, the airbox would be hot to the touch but, to my astonishment, it was cool! I opened the airbox to feel my filter and the results were more amazing! The filter was COLD! The throttle response is tremdously better and I'm not sure if its in my head but my car seems to get up to speed with more ease then before. I love J's racing! Two thumbs up! :goodjob: :goodjob:

Function > Form

But in this case, function and form is here. Its a nice piece of Kevlar!

It would be your second mod, not your first.

That's like saying it's my first mod, since I installed my coilovers, my strut bars, my roll cage, my turbo kit, and so on.

LOL. But whatever, that sh1t looks good.

Yea, you're right, unno. For some reason, my springs don't hit me as a mod in my mind. And as far as engine performance wise, this is my first one.

nice first mod... how much you spend for it? looks nice..

Preciate the kindness, guys. The price was $450 Shipped. I could've gotten it alittle cheaper at other places, BUT none of them had it in stock and would've been special ordered which would've taken 6-8 weeks. I said screw it and spent alittle more so I could get it sooner.

I'm not sure, but I've already thought of the way to fix that, I'll just take off the airbox lid so it won't be sucking from the airduct anymore.

Not trying to see who has the bigger balls in the internet, BUT your point is invalid. Maybe J's wanted the white folks in the US to understand what the heck their trying to say so they could sell more?

Nice, but I'd be scared about rain. I know you have that "back-up" plan...but seriously, you gonna tell me every time it rains your gonna go outside, get wet, and unhook your airbox?? :lmfao:

Yes, everytime it rains, I'm gonna get outside and UNLATCH my LID.

Its not hard at all. There's only 5 clips holding the LID down. With the lid off, it exposes the cone filter. The same one you sould see on a aftermarket inake such as AEM. The hardest precedure of the process is getting in and out the car. Takes about, eh...15 seconds.

eh 15 seconds or less.

can you feel any better response with the air duct? i've been thinking about getting one for a while, but would definitely have to get a cooling plate with it.

nice first, or second, mod! The next thing to get is probably a Berk Technologies test pipe!

I have to say that I defintely did. Accelerating with traffic is alittle easier now.

Test pipe after cooling plate for me! I'm staying loyal and gettin' J's test pipe too!

Im sure rain wouldnt be a problem as this actually directs air to the box rather than suck it into the intake like a cold air intake does.

If your that worried about it you could always put a little screen in the front to help block it
