Did you have that orange 600? If so, that was by far the fastest 600 I've ever raced. It was like a rocket below 100mph.

But yeah, it took me to about 130mph to pass you, because I had to makeup the ground I lost at the beginning. I would imagine that my car (and others) probably match or overcome your acceleration around 100mph. Bikes don't have the aero to keep pulling at high speeds like cars do.

I've raced several 600's that I would immediately pull on (not having to catch up like I did with you).

This is going off subject, but bikes racing cars is stupid anyway. They're two completely different vehicles. A 500lb 2 wheel vehicle vs. a 3 - 4klb 4 wheel vehicle is silly. A bike has a much much more rigid suspension and does not suffer nearly as much "shock" to the tires as a car does.

Whereas a bike has a disadvantage at high speeds, it's not nearly as big as the advantage it has at low speeds or a dig.

I guess people can have "bragging rights" for beating a bike with a car, but they're just not in the same class and it's not a good matchup at all.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I was there when Thacker's GTO was dyno'ed. He DID NOT have spray, it had an intake, and weld in bullets. YES it made good power for an 05 GTO, no he wasn't hiding anything. It put down 371whp, no more, no less.

Actually it is the same for twin screws too. It's not just the heat from the stock blower. SVT neglected to make a coolant exit for the driver’s side head. There is also a tight piston to wall clearance and the lack of bronze valve guides in our heads makes them even more susceptible. So, too many back to back high speed runs (140mph+) could cause the car to overheat or damage the heads or pistons. The problem could also lead to the common head tick issue.

If you don't at least have a wideband or a engine temp gauge I wouldn't even consider it

you do realize there is no such thing as a "pulley diameter" sensor? Its based off a map table. So he can run a bigger or smaller pulley and the map will correlate it regardless.

The CAI is another story. That will adjust LTFTs and lean out WOT. The pulley however, will not.

I tune my car anytime i go below 35 mpg to work.(once a month or 2) My performance cells under WOT dont get touched unless i do some sort of bolt on.

The head cooling mod will help with the coolent flow issue, but does nothing to help the piston to wall clearance. After romping through the gears, the car will get heat soaked. Hitting 5th gear at WOT puts an excessive load on the engine. This extra load causes heat, which cause pistons to expand... you do the math.

The revised heads with the coolent flow issue didn't come out untill Jan 05. No Cobra came from the factory with them. Some of the late run 04's did have 9 spark plug threads. That is the only difference.

It's your car so run it how you want, but I would stay away from WOT past 4th :cheers:

We have/had the same problem with our cars. However we have an intercooler built in to our intake manifold to drop the air charge temp but the system only held 2 quarts total. We generally take the cobra intercooler and attach it to our cars. I've also noticed it is very small. Why not upgrade the intercooler with one from CX racing. It holds a gallon and can probably keep your IAT2s down like they did mine. I saw a 40 degree drop.

The other option of course.... head work or methanol.

oh yea, and the ford guys manufactured us a killer chiller too :)

the MAP cells wont change because they are predictive calculations of the pressure inside of your manifold. Infact you would probably have to hit 50 PSI before you got off the chart.

The map sensor takes your RPM and the PRESSURE and calculates the fuel to add to it. The only time you are tuning it, is when your sensor is saying it is at a certain pressure when it really isnt. (eg porting and polishing). Even then your o2 sensor compensates during regular driving with LTFT and STFTs. After WOT it doesnt know what to think short of what the MAP says and THAT is what needs to be tuned.

All in all, if all you do is change a pulley, you do NOT NEED a tune. The airmass calculations are done unless you mucked with how much flow your getting....eg new intake etc.

We have an IC under the blower in our intake manifold too. We also have an Aftercooler (heat exchanger). An after market Heat Exchanger is a very common mod, but an aftermarket IC doesn't do much (not worth the money). There are many other cheapers cooling mods that will work great. Just for exmple, new T-stat and having your fans come on earlier. Ford also has a killer chiller for us too. I have heard great things about it :cheers:

no it doesnt, stop spreading the fail. Ill hook my software up to your stang and show you.

All it does is put you in a different cell you normally wouldnt be in under a smaller pulley. EG: 71 kPa at 1200 RPM under WOT you will just be pushed over to the 78+ kPa cell at WOT but it would still be there without the tune because it was already configured for you.

The only time you need to tune those cells is just to tweak them in to your settings.

As far as the MAF goes, it will go unchanged. NO CHANGE AT ALL. IT SENSES THE AIR coming through. It doesnt change with a pulley. When you changed the pulley all your doing is getting to a higher cell faster.

Also: on a side note... of course you wouldnt need a tune for a ported+polished SC. It doesnt do anything that radical. It wont change your AFR because THE MAP didnt change.

Tell you what. I have a 2.8 pulley in my trunk right now. Ill give you logs of how different my MAF/MAP is beforeand after i drop the pulley to that size.

Guaranteed it will not change, just like when i pullied it from a 3.4 to a 3.0. the new cells i hit will need to be tweaked a little, but not what was already configured+tuned. Hell even my VE table isnt off +/- 1%. Thats unheard of for tuning. (generally 3% difference during different days alone)
