I am very interested in photography and would like to know what a good camera for me to start out on would be. I've been taking pictures with a point and shoot for about a year and would like to move up to a better camera. I'd like to find something in the $300-$500 range. Thanks in advance for your help. :goodjob:

look at canons low end dslr's. you could find a decent used one around $400 or maybe even cheaper. the hard part is finding lenses that are worth a damn. those end up costing more than the camera itself.

this should get you started.

SLRs will run you a lot of money.

Id wait till Oct (next month) buy the Canon SX10 IS....or the S5 IS. Then upgrade to a SLR. I am pretty sure you can't get a SLR...for below 500 once everything is said and done.

LOL. If you don't feel like posting any recommendations then don't.
