As I was pulling in my driveway the other day, i noticed on the mailbox that there was a spider with a bee in the web. Went inside to grab my camera and sometime in between that period of time, the bee ended up on the ground, obviously bitten, because it could only "limp" (if you will) around in circles. I didn't realize it was a black widow till I had gotten a closer look.

on to the pictures.

Holy crap awesome pictures, I dont think I can even see a real bee that good.

Theres black widow in georgia?

yep, actually a lot if you ever look around for them, kinda scary. I had to read water metere for community service a few years ago, and there was all kinds of nasty under those lids

Great pictures. What camera was used?

camera = canon 20d
lens = sigma 105mm f/2.8, could've gotten closer, but the black widow disappeared when i started taking pictures, i'd really rather not get bitten. wouldn't have been very fun.

I hope you torched that Black Widow. I had to turn my water off and they were all over the place under the lid, got a can of WD-40 and a lighter and took care of bidness. Great pics btw.
