Whats inside:

around 12:00 I found this kit that my dad got for his birthday and decided to make a use out of it and start this beer making.

First thing i did was to clean the whole thing with the One Step Sanitizing thing that came with the kit to clean all the bottle/keg/utensil.

http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k62/kentooo/IMG_3940.jpg

After everything was clean I filled the keg to 4-quart mark as stated on the instructions. Then I Got a pot and filled it up with 4 cup of water and added the "booster" pack until in it until it dissolved.

After 10minute of stirring it finally dissolved. Now i had to boil the water until it started to bubble. After it started to bubble, I had to add the "Beer Mix" into the mixture.

After it was mixed well, I poured it into the keg and added some cold water to bring the volume up to a certain level.

Finally, i had to add this small pack of "YEAST" into it. And stirred vigorously.

This is how it sits now.

Now i have to wait for it to ferment which will take minimum 7 days.

After it ferments, I will have to pour it into a bottle and add some sugar to it and wait 2-3 more weeks. I'm really excited how this beer is going to taste.

My uncle does this all the time, he's gotten pretty damn good at it. He even made some "cherry brandy" last year and let me taste it and it was great. Good luck with it, it would suck to have it turn into some motor oil after all that time.

A few friends and I had a beer brewing operation for awhile. We usually got batches of around 40-45 bottles and tried quite a selection of different kinds of beers. Some turned out good, some didn't. We always had best luck with IPAs.

It's definitely something I'd like to do when I have a good place to do it. But everyone had different schedules and everyone involved either lived on campus or in an apartment (I didn't want my place to always smell like bread), so it just kind of phased out.

Good luck with it man!

Sorry but fermenting my own yeast water doesn't sound appealing, it sounds dirty. I'll let companies do it for me.

It seems like theres always someone at tech making beer. There was some fabled beer makers in our building last year when I lived on campus in NAA.

Yeah, that doesn't surprise me in the least. :)

It wasn't us though, we brewed most of the time off campus but a few times at some of the guys' fraternity house.

That sounds interesting.

Temperature is very important to the yeast. Make sure you keep the temps steady. Keep the keg someplace away from a lot of light and away from moving air (vents).

Yeast generally prefers warmer temps too, so the brew time depends on a lot of things. Dont just wait exactly 1 month and hope it will turn out ok. Taste it after 23-25 days and make sure its on track.

Here this might help:

Yeast prefers cooler fermentation temperatures - usually under 70 degrees F for ales and down in the 50+F range for lagers.
