i have a b18a1 block a b18a1 head and a b18c1 head. i have been told that an lsvtec would be power but i loose reliability unless i am willing to spend a pretty penny. but i think putting the ls block with the b18a1 head could be a temporary answer and then buy a turbo. with everything being stock on the motor what would you suggest on me doing to the car for the turbo.

Reliability always decreases with cheap parts... Not saying you have to buy the most expensive parts out there, but don't just go with whatever is cheaper.

I am going to start fisting everyone's mother who says LS-Vtecs are unreliable... An engine is as reliable as you build and drive it... the reason so many LS-Vtec builds blow is because there are so many idiots that just slap the head on, grab a b series ecu and rev them like they are GSR's or B16's, or even worse, they don't feel like doing the work to put a knock sensor on the back of the LS block, so they get a P28 chipped and do a knock delete plus up the redline to 10k on a stock bottom end... and then they always wonder why a rod came through the block or why their bottom ends are knocking....
