What once claimed to be the World's Largest Chevy Dealer is out of business.

Bill Heard Chevrolet suddenly announced Wednesday morning that its 13 stores across the country were closing immediately.

Bill Heard had a large operation in Antioch until last year when it sold the dealership. That came after a NewsChannel5 investigation exposed questionable business practices there.

The closure of the remaining stores, including the dealership in Memphis, comes as Bill Heard is facing a lawsuit filed by the state of Georgia for deceiving and misleading customers.

Also, last month, GMAC cut Bill Heard's line of credit for new vehicles.

Employees today told NewsChannel5 they were told to turn in their company vehicles this morning and look for work elsewhere.

Bill Heard's corporate offices in Columbus, Georgia, had no comment.

FUCCEN SERVES EM RIGHT. Sucks for the employees but the sales people in car sales there played just as much a hand in those shady business dealings as the managers and Bill Heard himself.

probably still could...I highly doubt it's going to be easy moving all those trucks to different dealers to pick up the tab.

The one here in Columbus is really nothing but 1500's, 2500's, and some AVEO's....all the Vette's they use to have are pretty much gone, don't know if they sold or not, but at one point they did have about 8 out front, which are now replaced with aveo's and white 1500's.

Everyone hated Bill Heard in Columbus, but they did employ ALOT of people...so that is going to suck for those families.

They would fudge their books to get more inventory, as well as customer income to get financing available for pretty much anyone, the one in Columbus wasn't doing the warranty work, but was still charging GM that they were, so people were getting their cars tampered with to hide the problem, also, it was a wide known fact here in Columbus, that tech's, mechanic's, and other employees were taking customer cars out for joyrides

I worked at 2 different dealerships down the street from them and what they were doing was nuts.

They were smacking people over the head big time on car payments. I had a lady that came in one day with an '07 PT Cruiser that she wanted to trade in. Pull her payoff on the car $20k with 90K miles on it. And it was a BASE MODEL.

now, I do not blame the dealership for that...people should not buy a car if they cannot afford it...that person saw the contract, and knew what they were getting in too, I can understand some people are desperate for a car, but common sense is common sense.....the car was probably sold to her at $16k new and she paid for the special rust proof undercoating, and extended, extended warranty, and got financed at 29% interest.

While they were stupid to buy the car for that price. It's just as bad on the part of the dealer to sell the car at that price. They bought the car 9 months before with 70k miles on it for I forget the price but seriously anything over 14k for a 07 PT with 70k miles it just ridiculous on the part of the dealership.

There are a lot dealers that do that. I used to work for one that did. Part why I quit.

I wonder if they'll be closed as fast as the Guess the IA girl thread....

I figured out who it is and why the thread was closed so quick too.

Yeah, you can do that if you move enough cars. Bill Heard wasn't moving cars all that fast, especially in Columbus. When the new Vette's came out, guess what dealership had over 10 on the lot? Then you add in how bad the reputation of their service dept was, the one in Columbus was like the black sheep of all dealers here.

No thats dumb, you of all people should know that.

Value is what someone is willing to pay for something. If I can sell you a 1971 Beetle for 20,000 and your dumb enough to pay for it..... Then so be it

I agree with you but at the same time but doing something like that is just shady in my book. When I worked at dealerships I always told my customers that they would get a fair price and I meant it. I lost a lot of money on that philosophy but at least I was able to sleep at night.

Translation: Due to favoritism the thread was closed. I know who it is and that in itself is why the thread was closed so don't give me that BS. Maturity my ass.

Other threads have been made about less liked females and there was no rush to close it.

But its not good business

question is did she get herself upside down with another trade when she bought the pt? my sister in law loves to do that, shes been upside down paying probably 15% interest for the last 2-3 cars shes had, hell the last car she bought was a 01 accord with 65k miles on it and she paid $17k for it, that was a year ago, we bought my wifes accord 5 years ago, same year model, same options w/ 25k miles, honda certified used car, for $14.5k.....either way, i say when you sign youre responsible, if shes that dumb then so be it....who the **** buys pt losers anyway?

This is my last post in this thread concerning this issue but I know you know who the fuk it is because otherwise you wouldn't have closed it as soon as you did, asshat, so let's not play dumb here.

You call me immature but immature would be announing who the fuk it was.
You call me a troll because you don't like me and guess what, I don't give a shiit. You edit others posts when it's not to your liking and you come off like the bitter bigot that you are. No secrets there.

Meaningless posts? That's a first and like I have expressed to you before, you are more than welcome to convey your sentiments towards me in person.;)

They were car salesmen. They aren't exactly known for their caring reputation.

And American cars aren't exactly known for their above average test results.

it was just on the local news here....

the lady was talking to people who were leaving, and one girl it was only her second day and she got told this afternoon to not come back, and a bunch of other employees said there was already signs of their loss of work with hours being cut

couple of girls that worked as receptionists at the BH dealership across from ours came in today practically begging for jobs... sad. They were moderately cute too, wish I wasnt so busy at the moment or i'd have offered them a way to make a few extra bucks on the side haha

Is it really a matter of maturity if someone has an inner driving force to make people miserable for as long as possible for no reason other than that inner driving force?
