hmm swap is in feels nice, but right around 5k when vtec engages it'll throw the cel light with a tps code.? anyone have any ideas as to why that would happen? i thought if the tps sensor was bad it would throw a code right away, so I'm stumped. :???:
[edit]
sorry it's a 1990 honda civic ex with a b16a swap

it depends. if the tps isn't calibrated properly it may not be out of range much, but if you go wot it may be too high throwing the cel. it'll take more than just a split second of voltage out of range to throw it. it could also be that it's stuck on one voltage point and the ecu double checks itself and says this can't be right...i'm hitting vtec, but tps says throttle is closed...no way=cel.

if it's unplugged it'll throw it right away b/c it doesn't see any voltage at that point.
