2008 Petit Le Mans

Well its that time of the year again. The biggest event Road Atlanta has the entire year is just next week.

11th Annual Petit Le Mans presented by the New Mazda6

When: October 1-4th
Where: Road Atlanta (braslton, Ga.)
Time: all week long (day and night)
Races: ALMS Petit Le Mans, Atlantic Championship, SCCA Speed World Challenge GT, SCCA Speed World Challenge Touring Car, Star Mazda, IMSA Lites, Porsche GT3 Cup, and Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup


Last year was a little over 120,000 people on race day. Lets see what we can make it this year! I will be there driving around from tuesday-sunday. Hope I see everyone there!

Try make a BIG sign so it is easy to find it. An IA meet is a great idea.

I'm going to try and make it. Every year I've gone I park at the Suzuki turn where they do all the drifting stuff. Assuming that I do go and get the Bug tuned up, I should be in a flat black '71 Super Beetle.

Just got home. The race was awesome! It was really exciting when the Audi and Peugeot were battling it out in the final few laps. What a race! :goodjob: :goodjob:

As for IA people, I managed to meet up with GKtib® out there. Only other IA'er I saw there was Kevin (BandyDesign) but he had walked well on by when I realized it was him. Good times though, can't wait for next year. :D

I'll get some pics up in the next day or so, took close to 400 of them and need to go through and see what turned out good. :camera:

Good times though, sad Audi won, I saw the pass, GOOD STUFF for sure though. TDI Cup was the **** and I am upset I didn't take the time to really get into it when I could have :(

that was a really good race, the most competitive that it has been in years, in my opinion. they were racing till the end.

It was a great race up to the last turn, the Peugot had a bit of traffic to filter through. Only I.A person I saw was Alex and his bad as NSX.

lol yeah, i think everyone could see that car lol. i showed my dad and he was like "DAMN" lol. personally even tho they always do, i wanted the audi to win...especially after mcnish had been through so much earlier in the day going up and down a lap constantly i think he deserved it. plus, im one to cheer for the under dog, and in my opinion that was the audi this race because everyone was banking on the peugot to win.

I was cheering McNish on the whole day. He spun in the warmup and put the car in the wall, the team manages to fix the car in time to start the race only two laps behind, and then McNish apologizes to the whole team saying the spin was his fault and that he was going to do everything he could do bring home a win. And that he did. I'm sure it was one of the most emotional victories for him in all his racing career.

The 908 certainly was an amazing car and I see Audi having their work cut out for them going forward. :goodjob:

Ehh I dunno about that one, I didn't meet anyone wanting Peugeot :( Audi fans everywhere. Mcnish is a great driver though, and really funny guy, I talked to him some on Weds. I always have liked him. I will say Audi did a great job and didn't win easily

That was a great race. But wasn't the last restart a bit too good for McNish? I had heard he hit the gas, er fuel in turn 10a/10b. I was halfway expecting a black flag from race control or at least another restart.
