Well...Sweden is better than we are.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gotland_Ring

Gotland Ring is a premium racetrack and multi-functional motorsport facility on the Swedish island of Gotland, the most popular tourist resort in Sweden.

The circuit - designed by the founder Alec Arho Havrén - will be FIA-inspected for international racing Q4 2008. However, corporate edutainment and testing is the main focus even in the future. In its final format - with a main circuit profile of 28 km - Gotland Ring will become the longest racetrack in the world.

It's not built yet. Finish is 2012 and what you see complete is only the northloop.

And no they didn't stop racing at the NRing....why would they?

Not on the North loop. Only on the GP course which was built on top of the old South loop. It was opened in 1984 because the FIA felt the Nurburgring was too dangerous and slow for modern gp cars and prototypes. Therefore the only series that runs around the north loop is the VLN which was made to run races around that track. They are the ones that are part of the Nurburgring 24 hour.

oh ok....

Niki Lauda lost his ears on the final Formula 1 GP ever held on the real Nurburgring back in 1976.

No bother....the King Rat went on to win the World Title in 77 and 84. :goodjob:

Bergwerk ("the mine") this is where the accident happened.
