PREP IS MOST IMPORTANT OF ANYTHING IN THAT PROCESS AS W/ ANY PAINTING SITUATION...
WHAT CONDITION ARE YOUR WHEELS IN NOW? PICS IF POSSIBLE...

IF THERE ISNT ANY PAINT OR BUBBLES OF THAT SORT...YOUR BASIC 1000 GRIT SANDPAPER SHOULD DO...SAND EM ALL, YOU CAN DO WET SAND OR DRY SAND...PRETTY MUCH EITHER WILL DO..LAY ABOUT 2-3 COATS OF PRIMER, THEN LAY YOUR BASE DOWN 3 COATS I SUGGEST...BUT TWO WILL SUFFICE, THEN IF U WANT TO CLEAR...2 COATS OF CLEAR SHOULD DO..THEN THATS ABOUT ITEXAMPLE PIC OF THE STARIONS I DID:goodjob:

If you put some time and effort into it, you won't even need primer or clear coat. Just some sanding paper, paint, rubbing and polishing compound.

wash with dish detergent to rid of oil, grease, grim, 400 grit wet, duplicolor high build primer, and that duplicolor wheel paint stuff. dont have to clear it. that will hold up fine.

 this is exactly wat i used and my wheels are still in great condition since i painted them over a year ago. my first 2 coats of the base were light then got thicker on the 3rd & 4th. this will prevent runs in the paint if ur not very skilled w/ a paint can:goodjob:

The under hood engine bronze is amazing for wheels. A lot of 2.5rs guys use that color to paint there stocks. Awesome color and will last a LONG time

was flipping through old treads and saw my wheels.... the gunmetal color is duplicolor wheel paint, red lip is 1000 degree engine enamel. i sanded them down with 600, i used windex to clean em up, got them warm with a heat gun, then laid down two coats of duplicolor filler primer. sanded that with 1000 grit, then did the color.
with the exception of some taping issues, they looked really good in person. but the main thing is to take your time, did those over a week or so letting the paint cure inbetween coats.
