why do older carbon fiber hoods always need a clearcoat? its like every cf hood has a cheap ass clearcoat on it that dont last very long at all

because they actually aren't clearcoated

ya they only come with gelcoats to protect for a short while from UV and stuff..but after awhile itl turn greenish like mine is starting to do.

try to avoid sunlight exposure when you have carbon fiber and try to wax and polish for protection.

i mean i dont have one so im not worried but i just noticed alot of people have crusty azz hoods. yo couldnt you clearcoat the gel coat?

you can, but most people are so excited to get there new cf pieces that they don't...or they just don't have the $
