Ferrari California spotted in... California, where else?

This was bound to happen sooner or later, and sooner it is: still over a month before its official public unveiling at the Paris Motor Show (http://www.autoblog.com/category/Paris-Motor-Show/) in October, the new Ferrari California (http://www.autoblog.com/tag/FerrariCalifornia/) has been spotted in its element: the streets of San Francisco.

The car was ostensibly there for a promotional photo shoot, but its presence in Northern California this close to Pebble Beach makes us wonder if Ferrari isn't planning an early peek on the putting green in Monterey. Whether at Pebble or Paris, we'll be there to bring you the latest, so stayed tuned. In the meantime check out the (admittedly blurry) photos in the gallery below.

Sorry to tell you but those are really old.

I watched the live reveal yesterday at 4:00 PM from Marenello.

Here's a video they played before the reveal.

and even more incredibly....Ferrari got Gran Turismo to make this.

f430 and this car are both hot in their own respects. I guess this car replaces the marinello as their front engine car.

Personally I think it's ugly. The best looking Ferrari in the past few years is the 595 GTB. The F430 looks worse than the 360 and this California is hideous.

Im gonna have to drop some facts on you.

1. No 595.....it is a 599
2. The California is based of the 599. During its prototype days i had to convince people on this site that it was a different car.

In the world of Ferrari's for me F40>F50>Enzo>599>550>F430 Scudiera>360 Scudiera>F430>360.

But the 599 was the first car in a long time that took my breath away and left me speechless. That car is simply beautiful. I'd have to have one in that charco color.

There is a book at Publix on Ferrari that you should go pick up it's in with all the magazine's but definitely worth $10 bucks and a read.

I'll take a look but my favorite author is Doug Nye, he is a motorsport historian and makes me look like i know nothing.

I don't find anything really astonishing about this car. This thread reminds me of Clarkson's quote on this car. "There hasn't been a good looking Ferrari since the 355, and I know we'd like to think these cars look good because they're Ferraris. It's like that show, Sex in the City? What's that woman's name...Sarah Jessica Parker? Well you'd think she must be attractive but no, she looks like a boiled horse!"

My favorite Ferraris by style in no order.
