Wow, a republican that wants to drill for oil. This is ground shattering news!

Seriously, coming from a native of Alaska do you even know who Don Young is? Mr Bridge to nowhere, Mr Abramoff scandal or look into "Coconut Road." Of course he wants to open up ANWR, he probably gets checks direct from British Petroleum.

Which brings up another subject here, BP who will have a large hand in the drilling in ANWR isn't even an American company! LOL And you think that oil will be staying here? Put a dunce cap on your head for even thinking that ANWR is a viable solution to our CURRENT energy crisis.

well im sorry you propose sitting with our thumbs up our asses. I dont' care if one guys wants to make money he still speaks truth and i seriously doubt just because BP would be doing most of the work, that they would be shipping it all out. You really don't know what would be going on.

The U.S is the third largest producer of oil in the world. We produce 8.33 million barrels of oil a day.

We use 20,680,000 barrels of oil a day

Mr Young says that if President Clinton had approved drilling in ANWR 13 years ago we would have an additional 1 million barrels of oil a day (he says it near the end of the video).

Even if we did acquire an additional million barrels a day of oil it is nowhere near enough to fulfill our daily needs. Not only that but OPEC has already stated that they will decrease their production by whatever additonal amount that we pull out of the ground. Drilling will not lower the price of oil it will only mean that we are producing more of the world's oil supply. Also do you honestly think that a company is going to invest billions of dollars in oil exploration and then sell what they find for a fraction of what the world market is currently paying for it, they have to make that money back somehow.
