I just finished rebuilding my integra's LS engine, and before it was running really badly, and after 4 days or so, i did a "first start-up". Well, it cranked and turned over just fine, only theres a HUGE problem; the motor is making a slight knock knock knock sound, and there is white/blue smoke pouring from the bottom/side of the block kindof in the area where the oil pan meets the block. The smoke doesnt smell like anything i've smelled before, not like oil OR coolant. I'm not really sure what should be done next, or what seems to be broken.

Someone please enlighten me as to what that could be!!

extreme blow-by due to improper ring arrangement blew the rear main seal out.

the knock is ur pistons playing patty cake with ur cylinder walls.

Oh well then the coolant ate your bearings, causeing them to spin, causing knock, causing a crack or hole in your block where oil is escaping..

Could be one of your senario's...

Or your oil pump took a sheet....

is your header a 4-2-1? smoke from the bottom of the block could be coming from the connection of the 4-2 if it's loose.

with all the questions you have about this car it sounds like it may be time to let a professional have at it.

Post of the decade.

GM: Might be time to invest in a new car. Something that you'll have less issues from.

Like a Kia. At least then you get a 10 year warranty.

lol all the problems ive been having have all been because of the engine!

So, im just gonna get a swap, and be done with all these issues!:bump:

By the time you get done having a pro do the swap it would probably have been cheaper to buy a reliable beater.
