it was a shop conversion. they did 600 and some change. i think it looks great and as if it came from teh factory. ive never been a fan of convertible Zs, cause they all just look hidious with the tops up. but the one pic i saw of thsi with the top up kinda made it look like a Vette

seen one of these before they are pretty cool but i dont think they have a top so it is def not a DD car

it's a straman convertible...came as a very rare dealer option for the z31..only 352 of them were created

Yeah, it does definitely need to be lowered.
It's clean, and well-done, but it ends up making the back half of the car resemble the Foxbody year Mustangs...
On the other hand, I've seen some convertible/chop-top 240-260-280Z's that looked pretty awesome.

Lose that 3rd brakelight and drop it on some decent wheels and you have something very sweet.
