So yesterday i was driving my car, and i was hearing a clicking, so i opened my hood, and tried to see where it was coming from, and i had no idea.i checked my oil, and it was perfect.then 1 hour later, it got louder. So i was like something is wrong. Finally i do some more searching under my hood, and its Fu8king rod knocking.the worst part, is that its my only car, and i have no cash.
This sucks

been there twice. and yes with my only car. i had to put rod bearing in my boosted b16 in my mos driveway in the pouring rain. didnt last long but long enough to whip up anotherback up plan. i dnt miss those days at all. trying to build and race/drive ur daily is NOT a good idea. not saying thats what u did/doing but just saying.

What do you have in there a D-series? Junkyard, borrow a couple hundred bucks from the 'folks = new engine. Well, new to you engine.

that sucks homie.

but you know, sohc's are a dime a dozen, so if ur low on cash and just need to replace the motor, that might be the route to go.

i was broke and messed around with timing on my d15b8 and melted a piston. had to put one in the engine in the driveway as well. after i got it running at 12am, almost back to the house and timing belt broke going up the last hill (about 50 ft from the house). i know ur pain.

How are you 100% certain it's a rod? Were u running it low on oil?

call NAD auto. They have STRONG d15 JDM engines. My shop has had ZERO problems with their parts and they are so strong and durable.

My D15 hasn't melted anything yet... and I've advanced the timing a bit in it.. great motor w/ 174K miles on it now... But that sucks man, My only problem in my D is w/ the axles they like to snap on me.. but if I get my swap w/ in a couple weeks I'll have a d15 for ya

Didn't you boost the motor? I remember you having an intercooler. Maybe you ran too hard for too long since it probably has high mileage.

Just get a block for it and do a mini-me. Save that money for future use. (Considering you don't have another car to use atm)
