Okay just finished a project, and cranked her up! but motor is over heating. and i was wondering why my fans dont turn on? but my gauge temp goes to like about a almost 60% and i shut it off. thats after like 20-25 mins warming her up?

what activates the fans to turn on and off?

is there any easier way to find out if my fans are bad? It was working before.

every plug etc. is plugged to it's place, only thing not plugged up is the vtec/knock sensor/ etc plugs only. what else is there check for?

not 100% sure but maybe the thermostat...or a blown fuse. i replaced my thermostat and it fixed it

my thermostat, is in working order. I mean if it was not working it wouldn't read on the gauge, but only thing i'm looking it over is why doesn't my FAn turn ON. what activates the fan the turn on/off?

so if your thermostat didnt work the gauge temperature wouldnt register on the gauge?? bwahahahahaha.

get your hands on a power probe and start testing.
better to test, then to start randomly buying parts

its a long shot but if your fans dont come on , check the switch as already stated . if that doesnt work , try a different ECU . ive had a p28 ecu that had this problem and after i replaced it the fans came on ... then again its a suggestion . but i had this problem .

okay, ................... STILL OVER HEATING WTF...

and one thing for sure is that i left it run for a a lil un 1hr and when it about reaches operating temp. the fan switches on and i'm getting alot of bubbles it gets to the point where it overflows the radiator, .. what do ya think?

i had a suggestion from a member, that i should take out my thermostat and run it for a while.. and see if it's closing/opening iono.. ne1 done this b4..

i'm assuming you did some sort of motor swap, right? make sure you don't have any air in cooling system. take the radiator cap off FIRST, then start the car, turn the heat on full blast, and just let the car idle until you don't see those bubbles anymore. the water in the radiator should have a more "flowing" look to it, not bubbling and gurgling.

also, if you take the thermostat out it won't hurt anything. if you take it out, and the car runs cooler, then your thermostat was probably stuck closed. you can also test it by boiling some water, and dropping it in, and seeing if it moves.
