It was 3.69 for premium last nite when I filled up. (thank goodness!) but today, it is 4.99 for regular.

The news keeps saying that prices have only jumped .20-.70 (depending on which news reports) but lets do the math.... 4.99-3.69= 1.30 I dunno bout yall, but I think my math is wrong, i got a 1.30 jump not a .20

People are getting scared so they are rushing to fill up their tanks in fear that there will be no more gasoline after this week! Thats whats causing your prices to skyrocket. I filled up @ 3.49 on monday. still have 3/4ths of a tank left. im in no rush to get any gas. probably will go back down before i need another tank

Gas did hit a all time low but becasue they shut off the refinery (so we dont lose millions of gallons of gas in the storm) theres not much for the gas stations to buy thus making hte price go up. No need to freak out it will be back down soon.

I spend 100.00 a day on diesel for my Dodge. I went and bought 2 metal 55 gal drums and filled them and my truck up. 550.00 for all of it but I wont have to fill up for another week. I'd rather pay 4.50 a gallon today then 5.00-6.00 tomorrow for diesel. Sucks but oh well. I could be sneaky and put off road diesel in the barrels but I dont wanna get busted. haha

its not just that people are buying gas now before it gets too expensive. save money now while gas is cheap so in a week or two when it goses down they wont have to pay the higher prices.

Especially compared to texas, louisiana etc. Makes no sense at all!! Scroll in and out to look at local places around you and see state comparisons!

lol i went to QT to meet up with someone and every single gas station on the way and QT itself was swarmed like Katrnia take 2. I laughed at the idiots. It's the damn mentality that jacking up the prices not the hurricane. Businesses will happily jack up the price on gas they purchased day before at $3.29 per gallon and go from making 20cents per gallon profit to straight $2.00.....if they manage to empty out their tanks over the weekend (most have). Y'all don't even wanna know how much profit and money that is. I give it 2 weeks and it will be normal again. Me staying home for a weekend won't kill me.

The prices would stay the same or close if people WOULDNT go rush the pumps and just get fuel normally. Thus not running out the pumps and not paying for fuel that is costing the retailer more b/c of the hurricane. The stations raise prices while people are bum rushing the tanks and stations battle and go up in price. I bet when you wake up tuesday morning it will be back to normal.

And I wouldnt imagine that the prices of gas in texas would go up if people have evacuated..........
