I'm not sure how extreme with the mods you're plannin on going but, a gsr swap with a set of 32 way adjustable coilovers with an LSD would be scary in the cvcc for auto x.

BTW these suped up race cars are not that expensive, a lot less then any new or fairly new car. I daily drove a ITC race car when I was 16 that cost less then a..idk but it was CHEAP. Do the work yourself, find sponsors, and it's not nearly as much as people think.

All that sounds good but the GSR swap, that'd be too much power in that little car I think. You NEED wide, small wheels, with REALLY sticky tires.

and why wouldnt you get a miata? theyre CHEAP, light, reliable, and rwd. they have already proven themselves in autocross and road racing MANY times.

Hey now my first race car project was a 81 Accord....lol...you don't see that winning ANYTHING ;)
I like unique cars racing that aren't the norm. Only reason I chose a Miata is it's easy to build and effective.

If you plan on building the CVCC, I would say coilovers (ground control/eibach springs, koni shocks) swaybars (maybe suspension tech rear), bushings, full exhaust/intake/header/ECU. And the run some 13x8 wheels with kumho 710's or hoosier A6's. Then put in some race seats and bam! you got a kick ass car.

And the cvcc probably wouldn't be competitive unless you dropped it into a mod class - and even then that's a maybe (although if you through enough $ at it, anything can be competitive).
A gsr swap is almost out of the question due to the size of the engine vs engine bay on a cvcc and then the front to rear bias would take a LOT of work to sort out.

Well if he is running in a CVCC, i really doubt that he will have 20-25k to spend on a 240sx. And yes, it would cost that much. ask the guy from a few years ago who did it. I would get a EF and build it. You would probly spend half of that....maybe. haha

Are you familiar with honda's, especially the cvcc (although it's unclear if he's even purportedly going to use this for autox)? Have you ever looked at the engine bay or even seen how much work it is to put a gsr swap in there?
Yeah, the 89si is still the car to beat as of last year for STS and everybody spending $$$ on those cars to get them to that point.
But oooh, for the $25k budget you're talking about - I'd rather go to SM in a Daddio clone evo RS. :crazy:
