My sister is looking for a good car as her new daily.
She is looking at a 2000 Mitsubishi Mirage DE.
It has 170xxx miles, 4 dour sedan.
It has a few bumps and scratches, but it drives pretty smoothe.

The guy is asking 2000 dollars.

My question is: Is it a good price for the money.

(KBB lists at fair at 2300 and good at 2800)

Depends on alot. If you don't know much about cars take it to a mechanic you know that does decent work and have them look at it. Also check under the hood and inside the trunk (the metal part under the carpeting and covers) and look for any unusual welded lines or anything of that nature. Some cars get in accidents and don't report them and have people fix them by welding on a new front or rear end.

There are millions of things too look for I just don't have time to list them all. I'm sure you could prolly just Google "How to buy a used car" and get some results. Lol.

Mirage's are pretty crap cars. I suggest her looking into a Honda or Toyota Camry.
