Because when you do remove it, like you said it may chip even if the paint is still soft

it looks really good... i just wouldn't have left it in, dont want to have to redo work

well we removed the bolts about 2 hrs later. with as much paint as we layed down if we had left them out and painted then tried to tighten the bolts the paint would rip up. even using washers it tends to do this. i have found that doing it this way keeps everything neat when assembled

Might have found the color I want to paint the 300zx so I'll be stopping by after I get back into town and test it out. Couldn't find any good metallic red before that weren't too dark.

But wouldn't it rip the paint off when you go to remove it the first time?

You would figure someone makes paintable plastic nut covers or something.

Like Bucky said, I am waiting on my crank to get here. Hopefully will get it this week, and get the motor back together this weekend sometime. Currently working on a minor tuck in my bay, but Bucky will post pics if he feels like it:ninja: Hopefully just a few more weeks and she will be back on the road:D
