So honestly, how many of yall have ever been speeding, like 70 or 80 over, and start running right after you see the blue lights kick on???? <------Anything else involving running from the cops if you have a different story.

TELL YOUR STORY PLEASE

Now my reasons for this thread are, Last night around 1:30 me and another member on here (????) were trying to help some high school boys out with their senior prank.... Well cops come rushing into the school and me and my friend ditch in his 97 integra..... We look back and they weren't behind us, so we drive to the nearest store and I call on of them.. They were sittin beside the baseball field which is basically behind the school. Well we creep by and the cop is sitting right beside the dirt road that goes to the baseball field waiting on them to come out.. So we had to try and help them out.. So we turned around and drove by again and road up the road abit then turned back around and started haulin' a$$, the road we were on is a 30mph road and we passed the school doing 120... It did what we wanted it to do, the cops threw the lights on and started our way.. We didn't slow down, took a few turns started to his house.. Somehow we made it to his house without getting caught. Well on of the guys back at the school calls me and tells me they had working things out with the cops and they were gonna let them finish the prank..So we did that for no reason....lol Still tried to help! It was pretty crazy though. Back at my buddies house, his dad had a police scanner and we were trying to let things chill and we listened to it, they had every poilce unit out here looking for us. And yes, I know it was very childess, but it was kinda the only thing we could think to do at the time.

Me and my friends used to go into Stone Mountain Park after hours, and climb the mountain, and just walk around.. for no reason... :screwy:

One night we went in, and we were walking in a wooded area near the playground, and we had stopped for a second. And this Cop doin patrol comes by, and we all just dropped on the ground. it was atleast 8 of us...lol. Cop pulled the light out,a nd everything, scanned the area. and drove off.. so we decided to run back into the woods...into a dark nowhere.

So were running, and a friend of mine drops his watch, and decides to try and pick it up.. and gets pushed down by someone...and ends up getting trampled by 4 of us.. :lmfao:. Even myself...after noticing me running on a soft surface, i looked down and noticed my friend on the ground, being trampled, and helped him up.. But he understood.. dusted himself off and kept running.

Than we magically appear near the entrance were we came in, BUT... the cop is back..., so we all drop again... it was soo smooth.. like it was planned. Cop pulled out the light and jsut scanned the light over the area.... and after 4 mins.. left.

And we escaped!!

only casualty was a watch/shoe .... back in my HS days.. bored..and summer time freedom..

One night I was pissed at a girl, and took off from the theatre parking lot heading to the old Kroger. I took the mall curve at 70, ended up flipping in the ditch. After the 2nd cop shows up, he asks me if I was running from him. No sir, I never saw you. Cop tells my mom he felt bad b-c I could have been hurt and he should have looked for me harder, he just thought I ditched him. My mom laughs and Says," Well technically he did ditch you"

About 2 years ago I was driving to Myrtle Beach in my mom's fiance's car (V10 Excursion). 10 miles outside of Augusta about 3 other cars including my own were doing 90-100 mph going eastbound when a westbound Augusta cop slams on his brakes flips on the blue lights and spins her back around.I'm in front in the far left lane so I know he's coming for me so I put it the rest of the way to the floor and go up about 2 exits and get off and go to McDonald's. Chill there for a minute get back on the freeway and see he got the hot chick in the Celica behind me.

Pretty slick! We kept going, cause it was a stretched road, and we got to the stop sign we cut through the Bp station and shot to the road on the other side and headed towards his house..... Going down his road, right before his driveway... about 300ft we were going atleast 90 to 95 and we see headlights coming around the turn way on up the road... He whipped it in his yard, drove it up behind his house into the Shop.... Got out and walk in the house and we looked out the window and sure enough, it was a cop coming towards us...

Nope, I voted no as well. Won't do it. It's not worth the bullsh!t that comes along with the arrest when you finally do get caught. And seriously, where am I going to run to in my orange Tib? It only is one of the most noticeable cars around.

I've run from the cops several times, the most recent being sometime last summer. Not intelligent by any means but it was the difference between going to jail or not and I decided to run.

I was on 75S headed towards downtown and I was late to pick up my girlfriend at the time for dinner. I was doing about 130 and I flew by a GSP patrol car that was positioned on the shoulder tagging people as they drove by.

I did not see him until right before I passed by him and to make matters worse, I was in the HOV lane with no passenger. We looked at each other as I passed by and I saw him jump in his car. At that point the idiot in me took over and I dropped it a gear and took off, weaving in and out of traffic for two miles and at one point I hit 160. At no point and time did I ever see him close enough to catch me and I figured he had half a chance considering he was driving one of those Magnums.... I got off at the Moore's Mill exit and took off as fast I could until I was on Peachtree Street and then I knew I was safe. Needless to say, I about shiit myself and I was paranoid for the rest of the night.

Ever since that incident I have been a lot more careful and considerate for other ppl on the road as well as for myself...

When I had my civic I ran one time......

On I-20 going to a Braves game....leaving madison i got on the entrance ramp at about 70ish, on to I20 I sped up to 110-115, just rollin, noticed a GSP Charger sitting in the median...ME= OH F'ing sh!t. I rounded from 5th to 3rd got up to about 130, made it to the next exit ramp which was Social Circle exit, and dipped back to my house via dirt roads, and back roads......hopped in my truck and made it to the game almost on time. I left teh Ef in the barn for a good two weeks.

An automobile IS considered a several thousand pound deadly weapon. They can and HAVE shot people who were unarmed in their vehicles attempting to ran. Started that several years back when a young black man ran over a cop, the cop thought he'd just swerve, but the kid hit him dead on. They shot another kid just about two years ago when he looked to do the same thing.

Short version: If a cop points a gun at you he is ready to use it. Don't gamble with his fear.

I had a cop flip me off when I passed him @ 145+ He didn't give chase though, does that count?

He was outside the car with his radar gun and I came over a hill. Guess he figured I'd be gone by the time he got in his car, just lowered his radar gun and raised his middle finger.

when i was younger i was playing around with a mustang and 350z. gsp had us all clocked but didnt know who he wanted to pull over. i stepped on it and punked out shortly afterwards. when his direct view of me was blocked by some other cars i passed, i switched lanes getting between some other cars and started doing the speed limit. he flew passed me like a half car length and slowed dwn next to me. i pretended not to see him bc the 75 north split from 285 was coming up and i was in the left lane so he couldnt get over unless the other cars slowed dwn to let him over. split came and he stepped on it and went looking for the other 2 cars on 285.

stoopid move, but i didnt get caught. again those were my younger days.

I've got a story about how I'll never speed again.

On a road trip from Alabama to Memphis, I'm on US-78. It's a Saturday morning, there are absolutely no cars in sight, so I get testosteroney and bury the pedal in the carpet. I blast past one car...a Neon...maybe an SRT4...I don't know. I approach my car's top speed of ~145 mph. I do this for about a minute or two, and then back off and settle back down to 70. US-78 is like 985 as you travel further north. It turns into a normal road with traffic lights. I come to one and stop, and immediately I see a blue light special in my rear-view. I pull into the gas station on the side, turn my car off, and hear the cop say "Do you have a license?" as he approaches. I'm such a nervous wreck (second time I've ever been pulled over) that I pull out my debit card instead. He laughs and goes, "Can't take payment buddy."

He goes through the typical stuff..."You know why I pulled you over?" I just went ahead and told him...not like I can bull**** him, especially when he tells me he was going 120 mph for a couple miles to catch me. I said that if I had seen him earlier, I'd have stopped. He lectured me for a bit, saying stuff like "When the dashed white lines turn into a solid blur...you know you're flyin. Were you racing that Neon? I know they've got speed limits in Georgia too!" Then he ended it with, "You're lucky I'm not a state trooper, else you'd be in cuffs right now. I've got something better to take care of anyway. Keep it safe out there...five, maybe even ten over is alright."

I shat a brick. Coolest. Cop. Ever...as well as luckiest day of my ****ing life. My luck ran dry that day. I'm never speeding again.

My luck ran dry that day. I'm never speeding again.
i remember part of the night that my luck ran dry. and before i begin yes it was very stupid of me.

Anyways one night i was out at a party and i had this great idea i was going to drive home because i didnt really know the person that the party was at. after that i dont remember anything until halfway into a conversation with a cop, while i was parked in some guys yard. by the time i came into the conversation i had already given the cops my wallet and my cell phone. i dont know if i was pulled over or if i just stopped in the persons yard. well anyways the cops asked if i was out partying and of course i said yes, and they asked if i was drunk, and of course another yes. well one of the cops was going through my phone looking at the names and asking me questions about the people in there. luckly for me i think two things saved me. first i had a lot of friends named chris, so in my phone they were all denoted my there appearance. it just happened that one of them was in my phone as fat chris. now this got the cop curious as to who he was, so i told him. it just happened to be that his father was the detective/hostage negotiator/ weapons specialist for the PD, i think that was one of the major things that got me out of a dui/open container(i had a cup of beer sitting in my cup holder)/ underage. they told me that if i could get a ride home that i wouldnt go to jail. so the cops just start calling random people from my phone trying to find me a ride. so they finally found someone to answer the phone and they came and picked me up. i think another thing that helped was that i was a volunteer firefighter as well. but ever since then i refuse to drive drunk or buzzed. luckly for me i learned my lesson the easy way.

On 985 flying past a cop posted sideways in the grass between the north and south of 985 doing around 110 mph at like 2 am and just stepped on it after I saw the blue and red lights go off. Stupid move since I was headed right into Gwinnett, but got away since it was so late. Just got off some exit before Pleasant Hill and went to sleep for like an hour in this neighborhood since I was so tired from work....which is the reason I was speeding. I have a few more stories just like this...but I doubt there will be anymore.

my car is def not fast enough to attempt a stunt like running form the popos

even if my car was, I wouldn't run. I'm 20 and I lost my license 3 times and I've been to jail once, and never again. I have my license back now, but you guys have no idea how much it sucks to lose it, to walk to work...And it's a blow to the pride when the hot girl that just agreed to go out with you asks to be picked up at 8 and you have to tell her to pick you up...rofl!!! But you do save a lot of money when there's no car payment, insurance payment, gas, and other maintenance to pay for...

so much so that I bought my maxima cash :D

I have done this twice. Caught once, not caught once.

1st time was in high school. My buddy wanted to go to this chicks house, and we werent going to let him go alone, so we agreed to go with him. She was only 2 miles away, and we were under 16 so we were walking. Well we get there, hang out for a while, and decide its time to head home. We were walking down five forks around 4 AM, hiding from all the cars coming in case they were cops. Well one car approached very slowly, so we took off. One of my buddies made it behind the fence, and my other buddy slipped, so I helped him up. We couldnt make it behind the fence, so we dove in some shadows at the top of the hill right at the base of a tree. Cop shined his spotlight on us and told us to get down there. We get down there, and he asks if we were coming from the big house party in Churchill Commons. I was talking, being very polite and honest, and I tell him no sir we were just at a friends house and were heading home. He asks if we had been drinking and whatnot, and we tell him no we were just tired (truth). Well he tells us to get in, and were all thinking oh sh!t. He asks where we were headed, and we tell him. He turns into the neighborhood, asks us which house it is, and stops about 3-4 houses up. My buddy tells him that this isnt his house, its the one with the garage light on (always on). Well the cop goes "Do you guys want to get caught?" We were all like "No SIR!" He asked if we had a way to sneak back in, and we told him yes we had an open window. He said well good luck not getting caught, and dont come back out tonight. He even backed up and turned around at the previous street as not to drive past the house. One of the coolest cops ever!

The next one was alot stupider. I was headed up 85 this past July 4th, headed to the lake. We were up in Franklin County, passing Exit 162. I was going just under 90 in the fast lane, and this expedition decided they were going to try to drop it and fly past me and squeeze between me and this 18 wheeler. I planned on moving over after the 18 wheeler to let them pass, but they decided they wanted to try their luck. I dropped to 4th and before I knew it I was at 110. Well my girlfriend goes OH SH!T COP! The bastard was parked up on the bridge, clocking, facing the way so he could jump right on the ramp and come get people. Well, I pass under the bridge and look and he is no longer sitting up there. So, I drop to 4th again and hit it. I slowed up at 1st, but saw the food/gas signs for exit 164, so I dropped and went for it. I hit about 120 and got off at exit 164 and turned right, made immediate left into that gas station and parked in the corner where the car could not be seen from the road, shut if off and went into the wendys attached to the station.

Well, next think you know it, we look outside and there is a cop pulling into the station across the street. My heart drops, me thinking im screwed, going to jail on July 4th. So we decide to make ourselves comfortable, get a frosty and watch the cop from inside. Well, next thing you know it, TWO MORE Franklin County Sheriff's pull up over there. Cop total now 3. This is where I start to really worry. One did not worry me so much, three scared the **** out of me. Then, to make things worse, TWO MOTORCYCLE COPS pull up over there. Cop total now FIVE. I was scared ****less, so was my girl. She went to the bathroom crying, knowing I was going to jail. I sit there a little longer, and they all turn out of the station going AWAY from the highway. I pretty much went IN that girls bathroom to get her, told her that was our cue, and we went on our way. About a mile up the road, they have the expedition pulled over. We just cruise on by, and finally breathe easy when we get out of Franklin county, then breathe a massive sigh of relief when we hit SC.

Last year I sold my 94 Civic hatch w/a built GSR swap and finally bought the car I've been wanting since I was 3 years old; a 1995 Mustang GT convertible (the body style came out at the end of '93, so I was still 3). It was white, limited edition 17" wheels, black top, saddle leather interior, 5 speed, and completely stock. It was pretty gutless IMO, but my first 'muscle' car. The day after I got it, I took my cousin with me to hang out with some friends. We didn't drop the top as it looked like it was about to rain. We're headed down the 4 lane road and I keep going pass my turn. Cruising along at 65mph with the stock 2.73 gears left us idling in fifth gear. LOL. Anways, towards the end of this road, you cross the interstate, then either take a left or right. The end of this road is pretty much the middle of no where; I see no cars. SWEET! I get a chance to get acquainted with my new ride. I sit there for a second, one truck passes, he gets up the road a ways. No one else, road is clear, second look, clear, first gear, 3,500 rpms, clutch drop! I "slide" her around the center median and into the other direction flawlessly! Take a second look behind me, still no cars, awesome. Look ahead, the truck slams on brakes and blocks the road! Shiit!!! WTF is this person doing?! He gets out and he's wearing a sheriffs uniform... LOL. Keeping in mind this is a 4 lane road with a center median and wide shoulders, I go around his truck. I drop a gear when he jumps in his truck and right away have to slow down for the right turn onto the interstate. HA! I have a reason to run the 'stang out. 1st gear, 2nd gear, 70+mph, 3rd gear, get to fourth and stop accelerating. He's out of sight, but he did get on the interstate to chase me. Luckily, I had a random drive out tag on the car so he had no way of finding me.

that's my only chase involving cops... although I doubt they would've caught me when I was doing 150+mph in my '97 GST (no speed sensor = no top speed govenor).

lol, good times! you know, that was the last time i saw you....how many years ago!?! joe and friends, laying on the ground with shotguns pointed at them. i always wondered, how'd your buddy get home that night? didn't they tell him to walk!?! well i'll throw my little story in the mix.

2 year ago, i had just bought my new bike (06 cbr600 f4i) about 3 months earlier. i was on my way home from a friends house, it was about 3am, and i was tired as hell. i decided to open it up on 285 coming down from marietta. i get to the peachtree exit, and notice a car kind of following me (i was at about 130). he didn't have any lights on, but i knew it was a cop (nobody else was on the highway). initially, i wanted to run but i slowed down to make SURE. i got to spaghetti junction and figured "let's see if he's really following me and not just speeding too." with all of these random thoughts in my mind, i accident get on the 85N ramp instead of South.

next thing i know, the wall in front of me starts flashing blue. i figured he was too close to run, and i was also going the wrong way! i start to pull close to the wall (that rough a$$ shoulder on the ramp), and he start swerving at the bike! then he gets on his megaphone and yells "I'M TAKING YOU DOWN!" lol, i got REALLY nervous then, i could stick my foot out and touch his fender (i'm doing like 10mph at this point). i figured, dude was going to kill me, so i dropped to first, and hauled a$$. the blue lights just got smaller and smaller until i couldn't see him anymore. i hit the jimmy carter exit, road into some random apartment complex and hid in the back between some trees. i chilled for about 30min, nervous as hell! i started to head home, and i noticed dekalb country was at every gas station near my house.

i figured he got my tag and address (he was close enough), so i stopped again and called my neighbor. he knew exactly who it was, he heard the copter over the neighborhood. he opened up his car trailer, and told me to get to our neighborhood as fast as i could, and put EVERYTHING in the trailer, then walk home. i left my bike, and gear in his trailer for about a month.

I was 16, and at a big street racing meet down in Panama City. Had a stock 1990 240SX Fastback with a stripped out interior. Cops showed up and broke up the meet. Singled me out, so I freaked out and jumped in my car. Two buddies got in too. We busted a U-turn almost clipping the cop car and make a sprint for it. James is in the front seat, trying to put on his seatbelt. Steven is in the backseat sitting on metal with no seat or restraints. He reaches up and bear-hugs James and the seat, hanging on for dear life. We're flying down the road, weaving between other cars at anywhere between 90-115mph. Get ahead of the pack and come up to a corner. Took the turn too fast AND the rear right tire decided to blow out. Lost control and slid of the embankment. Spun around, came back up on the road and slid of the other side of the embankment. Passenger side fender strikes a telephone pole's guide-wire and completely uproots it (5-foot steel pole). The fender is shredded off. The car turns sideways and the passenger side door bounces off the second guidewire. Car keeps sliding and slides between the third guidewire and the telephone pole itself. Nobody got a scratch. Cop pulls up, I go to jail and get bailed out by my father.

Dumbest mistake ever.

next thing i know, the wall in front of me starts flashing blue. i figured he was too close to run, and i was also going the wrong way! i start to pull close to the wall (that rough a$$ shoulder on the ramp), and he start swerving at the bike! then he gets on his megaphone and yells "I'M TAKING YOU DOWN!" lol, i got REALLY nervous then, i could stick my foot out and touch his fender (i'm doing like 10mph at this point). i figured, dude was going to kill me, so i dropped to first, and hauled a$$. the blue lights just got smaller and smaller until i couldn't see him anymore. i hit the jimmy carter exit, road into some random apartment complex and hid in the back between some trees. i chilled for about 30min, nervous as hell! i started to head home, and i noticed dekalb country was at every gas station near my house.

i figured he got my tag and address (he was close enough), so i stopped again and called my neighbor. he knew exactly who it was, he heard the copter over the neighborhood. he opened up his car trailer, and told me to get to our neighborhood as fast as i could, and put EVERYTHING in the trailer, then walk home. i left my bike, and gear in his trailer for about a month.
Oh ****...this had me glued to the screen. MOAR STORIES please....lol

my car is def not fast enough to attempt a stunt like running form the popos

even if my car was, I wouldn't run.

It's not that bad. I was still selling cars when i lost my license. I told my manager my situation and he didn't mind cause he knew i was responsible. Now i have only lost it once, but i do agree i dont ever want to lose it again.

Going home from work for lunch on my cbr. Im doing a stand up and come down from it and I always look back after doing wheelies. Just so happens I see a cop getting on the highway about 1/4 mile back with the lights on. So I hit it look back about a mile down the road and hes no where is sight. I make it home after passing 2 more cops and being scared. Now Im headed back to work getting on the same highway. I look back to murge over and theres a cop sitting alittle ways back. As soon as he saw me the lights come on so I hit a couple of gears down and off we go again. I have about 7 miles till I get to work. Im doing 175-180 for the next few miles look back and hes nowhere around. I got to work and parked my bike inside the shop for the rest of the day.

I've ran, but don't condone it. It's dangerous and stupid. Mine was more like, Turn(slide) the corner, pull into the church and out the lights and wait for him to drive by. No high speed chase, that will get you killed.

This in all honesty makes me laugh ( being its Ran and all )

There was one scenario where I blasted past a cop booking it in the fog in my Starion. At least it looked like a cop ( dark car, parked perpindicular to the highway ). Pulled into a gas station 3 exits up to fill up on gas, a bit nervous. 3 minutes into pumping a black crown vic pulls up behind me, and the officer calmly gets out and asks me if by any chance I happened to be the light colored car that left a shockwave in the fog :lmao: I told him I wish my old mitsubishi was capable of going fast enough to leave a shockwave, but he probably saw an older RX7. He bid me a goodnight and a safe drive and to not speed.

Also I once got clocked going 137mph in a 55mph on a backroad. But I pulled over immediately for that one. Long story short? 14 over and $115 fine :bump:

Even when I had my old S13 boosted for a while, it wasn't fast enough to run in my mind so I just didn't drive like an idiot.

Hahaha...the second story is tight since you didn't run and he just reduced the hell out of the ticket.
