Who's trying it? **** is getting ridiculous speed test scores, I'm installing and trying it now.

I downloaded it last night and am impressed with the speed. It's not all that fast compared to my dsl but still noticeably quicker.
I'm still using firefox or IE so it's not all that, IMO.

I'll probably try it later today, along with my new Comcast. That was the easiest installation ever. Tech came, plugged in my modem, called 'em up and put the MAC in and had it provisioned. He showed up around 1:30 and just left maybe 10 minutes ago. Now I have the speed I'm paying for, my AT&T was giving me 1mbs when I was paying for 3.
Sorry. Just happy to be posting in a thread that isn't about politics so I can share my joy with my new internet.

im gonna download it but looking at the screen shots looks no different than IE or Firefox
If Chrome can be a good alternative to Firefail and Internet Extortion without spidering into f*cking everything on the computer, then I'm all for it.

Ran. Get real, this is google we're talking about here. I give it two months before Chrome has more gadgets than the old Mozilla trunk and a year before Chrome becomes an OS. After that, maybe another six months before it becomes self-replicating and forces it's installation onto every computer connected to the web and creates Skynet.

Lol... this **** is amazing. ****ing hell this thing is amazing.... WOW... The User interface is very similar to IE and FF but taking the positives of both and almost none of the negatives. Only gripe I have so far is this annoying window that keeps opening. WOW THIS IS AMAZING. So far chrome > FF & IE

not to mention the mouse shortcuts, those are frickin sweet.

It is bloody amazing. So amazing that each tab is run independently in the browser, so if a website crashes, it doesn't close the whole browser (unlike Firefox, Ie, and Opera)
its just like opera isnt it? i got to get used to it. Anyone know how to import shortcuts, on chrome? i did it when i installed but it didnt transfer.

Opera has issues interpreting websites. STILL. Sites that are rated as 100% compliant will STILL sometimes draw incorrectly in Opera. Firefox is so far the only browser to draw a website 100% of the time at 100% compliance with 100% accuracy. I'll probably test Chrome out later, but really. Firefox does everything I need (As in, it's not Internet Explorer and can draw web pages) so I'm not sure I'd switch just out of laziness. Oh, and I like my BT client.

I do like this Chrome, the only thing is I have so many applications on my FF that doesn't transfer over to Chrome right now. Like a weather tool bar, another toolbar that controls my Itunes without having to open it, and other such things. Hopefully they will make applications for Chrome soon.

I tried it, it ran well. The application tool is interesting, but I have a feeling I will be annoyed by it later.

Browser and ISP are two different things. What do you mean Chrome isn't as fast as your DSL?

Ok, I restarted it and I don't have the DOM Inspector annoying me anymore. The start up time vs IE and Firefox, tried different orders and Chrome came out on top by far every time.

I found a pretty big flaw, if you do a search on Google images and click on a link it takes you to the next page. But when that happens and you try to just click on the picture itself to open in its own page it doesn't happen. It downloads it and saves it to your computer, FTL!

found one small issue. In IE and Firefox you can right click a picture and set as your desktop without saving. With this you can't

Keep in mind this is a beta release. I have a feeling with a little maturity its going to be a force in the browser arena! Also the guy on cnn with the review is probably out of the realm of the average user considering he supposedly runs 40-50 browser windows simultaneously ?!!
anyone import their favorites succesfully yet?

I have to agree with Ninja. It is amazing for a Beta. I'm using it for everything. I just hope start making an ADBLOCK addon so I can block it all off.

Seems to load much faster than IE but it seems to not let me scroll down the page every time. And once you scroll down it doesn't let you use scroll back up with the touch pad on the laptop

Chrome is cool, I was trying it out for a little while, but be careful of this little tidbit.
From the Chrome EULA:

By submitting, posting or displaying the content you give Google a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, and non-exclusive license to reproduce, adapt, modify, translate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute any Content which you submit, post or display on or through, the Services. Mine did it when it installed, a box came up showing it open for the first time and it copied all my IE favorites over. The bookmark box on this one is on the far right though, Not like other browsers. You did see the "Other Bookmarks" tab on the far right?

If it wasn't obvious, companies tend to copy and reuse their EULA's. Google simply made a mistake, and this portion of the EULA doesn't apply well to this product. They've came out and said multiple times that they are correcting it. Google = good
Google =/= Microsoft
I wonder how it's maintaining it's load speed. Most browsers use cookies and other little files that are saved on your comp to maintain faster load times after you visit a site. Chrome doesn't seem to retain cookies so I'm wondering where it's storing information at. :???:
