So I blew my cousins truck up tonight

He had been drinkin so I went to our friends house to get his grill. After I left I smelled somethin burnin then saw smoke coming out from under the dash. Next thing I know the whole passenger side is burning and there is no where for me to pull off the road. Finally I find a spot run off in the ditch and get the **** away from it. My phone is dead so I can't call anyone so I start walkin back to our friends house and get about a mile away from the truck and hear a loud ass bang. It was either the fuel tank or the propane tank in the bed of his truck. Few minutes later I hear another one. Got to our friends house after an hour walk and a cop pulls up and takes me to his truck. I bout **** when I saw it. The grill was blown out of the truck, the woods was on fire, and the fire reached the power lines and ****ed them up, completely melted his tool box in the bed of his truck and blew all the windows out and melted just about the whole engine.

If you are talkin about the grill in the bed it is cause the firefighters put it back in after they put it out. Or thought they had it out. After they got it on the wrecker he had to pull over on the side of the highway and wait for the firetruck to get there cause it started burning again

If you just drove away and smelled something under the dash, you didnt blow it up, it just burnt itself.

Have you checked to see if this was common with this year model? Id look into that, see if any other 01 Ram 2500 diesel's had fires due to electrical problems.

He has been having problems with his throttle position sensor and today it did it worse than it ever has. We figure it may have shorted out. Also a guy there said there is recalls on them. Not sure if that is true or not though.

Also I didn't drive away, I had to walkin for a ****in hour down a dark ass road that I don't really know well with no street lights at all and my phone was dead so I had no light to see where I was going

2 things would have saved the truck, grill, trees, powerlines, and extra work. Fire extinguisher, and cell phone charger car adaptor if you had them in the truck w/ you. Regardless glad noone got hurt and that's some crazy sh!t lol.

My cousin took the pic with his phone and sent it to me.

And randomguy the only cars that ever passed was the fire department and I was trying to wave them down and only one person stopped. He asked if the firetruck passed me I told him yeah I was the one driving the truck and was trying to get to my friends house to call and he said ok and drove off. ****in douchebag.
