Im going to pick up my new car tomorrow and I know it needs a transmission. No biggie since I have another car. Problem is, I don't know what transmission to get for the car or which ones fit. The motor is slightly built and it has Crower Turbo Cams.....no turbo yet:ninja: . It has an LS transmission. Should I just get another LS trans or ?????? It will be boosted later.

EDIT: I don't know if it matters, but its an EG Hatch.

Ok, seems like most agree on the GSR. Im picking it up hopefully Saturday....if I can't get it before then. I have another question, I need front wheel bearings. Are the same as usuall or are they different size or anything because of the swap?

Thats too short of gears for my motor....
I have enough torque for the GSR. And I already gave my word that I was picking it up so I have to.

it depends on the end decision. if N/A b16 and type r have the same gears and a 4:40: final drive but the type r is lsd equipped and both have you banngin the gears and pullin hard. turboed now on the other hand gsr is an exellent choice, but an ls has longer gears and you can run it out further on the streets. i now have a type r and it is a nice tranny, but you better be on your game cause 1st,2nd, and sometimes 3rd are close together and if you spin and dont know how to baby it out tha hole it can fall on its face in second. so make sure its hooked a starts pullin b4 you shift.

so whats the final verdict? The GSR people backed out on me.... So now Im stuck with a crap trans still.

I feel dumb asking so many questions. Thanks for all the help though. Yeah boost is the plan.......later though. B20 doesn't like boost unless it's been sleeved right? Or am I wrong? I was thinking nice NA build up until I get another B20 block to get sleeved and everything eles for the boost setup. I still have alot more to learn and research to do before I get anything as far as boost goes.

Go with a ITR or a GSR.

Yeah, B16 trans on a B20 is way too short. Im learning! I don't want anything shorter than a GSR. I do alot of highway driving.

yeah the b16 tranny gonna kill you on gas mileage if you do alot of highway driving, that is if you drive like me and run 80 on the highway alot. then again, if your going to do a build or boost one day or what not, gas mileage should not be a concern cause thats going to suffer the more you do anyway. i would still go with gsr for n/a though
