Alright, I'm supose to be buying a car from a guy I know and he was driving it down to me tonight, about 30min's ago, and the headgasket blew out on it! Now he told me that it would run hot after while, so I though Thermostat or headgasket. Not to bad to fix.. Well anyways it blew out and he's in Macon about 20min's from me.. He said he was gonna take it to some guys house that he knew and his friend was gonna check it out.. He told me that they pulled the oil dipstick and it was kinda milk'e and that when they poured water in the radiator it would shoot back out the resernator on the ratiator. I'm not 100% sure what is wrong with it.. Please help before I go buying something thats gonna cost me aot of money to fix just to have a nice DD. Would a new headgasket and head milling sove the problem???? Thanks in advance Fast-Tech
The car is a 1991 Honda civic hatchback, dx I believe

so whats wrong with it???? With the milk'e oil, that means there's water in the oil correct. So is that not a big problem??? So what excatly would I have to buy to fix it???
blown headgasket for sure. gonna need a headgasket, new headbolts unless u want to risk using the old ones and t-stat. new oil and coolant. if he drove it while it was hot ur gonna have to get the head resurfaced too. sounds like the opportunity for u to back out or lowball.

i would go with a blown head gasket , it is kinda of a big problem , the more he drives it the more of a chance it will thrash the motor

Another Question, About how much do you think it would run me to get it up and running good again????

What are the chances of the head being cracked????hell anything is possible , if the body and int is straight and he'll tow it to you for $300 , i'd do it , if you were gonna pay $700 to start with , you'll have pleanty of money to get it back on the road

for 300 if it doesnt look to bad i would buy it and just do a swap but it wont be to much to rebuild one of those motor or take long

Yeah, I just need something that could be on the road within the next few weeks or so, I'm really just not looking at another project so wanted to know if it was a cheap and easy fix.

The exterior is really good for the age of the car! The interior is alright. But I'd rather take my money else were if this is not an easy fix.
