From what I hear, it can be done... But it is really expensive to do the swap with all the parts...

No it does not fit smoothly. It can be done but honestly if you have to ask, its probably out of reach.

It will work but its not a simple swap.

youll need:

Engine Mounts $350

2JZGTE Wiring Harness is different its about 3 feet too short so all the wires have to be extended. EIther premade harnesses are $1500 or you can pay someone to professionally extend it for $700-900

FMIC and Piping- $500-800

1JZ Bell Housing for R154 Trans and Clutch, Flywheel bolts, flywheel- $600-800

Usually youll need a radiator like a Koyo and slim fans as the GTE motor tends to produce alot more heat. They run $300-400

Custom Exhaust as the GTE DP and the stock exhaust really wont work at all but you can hack it up if you want to i guess. Expect $400-800 for custom exhaust , muffler, downpipe.

Really to do it right including the motor, timing belt, water pump, new rear main seal, front main seal, cam seals, labor, all the parts to go with it your looking at a good $7500-9000

EASY to do it RIGHT. You can cut corners and cheap out and try to do it for way cheaper, but thatll cost you more in the long run.

Its not a swap that is easy and its not a swap that is to be done cause your 7MGTE motor blew up or something.

Plus i personally think the swap sucks because the Old Supras are plagued with wiring problems, ugly interior, and i just think they are ugly lol

Mike what about doing a GTE Swap in a SC? Roughly the same cost? Cheaper? More Expensive?

Ask SLEEPINGTALON how much money he has in his SC300 with a GTE motor.

by the time you do the motor, wiring, trans, etc etc etc its $$$$$$$$$$

The Older supras have problems with their wiring anything from shorts to just outright failure. Gauges almost never work if they do its a miracle.

I dunno any MKIII i have ever seen was a complete piece of sh!t. They are old, ragged out, usually never taken care of etc. They are prob the most ragged out cars on the road IMO.

I mean its not like an EF or a 240sx, they really were just made ****ty
