Why do most people hate the ep3, but obsess over eg hatches?

sorry i cant help much. im not a honda fan. but ive always thoght the hatches looked better than the coupes/sedans. except for the funky hatch that had the shifter comin out of the dash. that thing was ugly

Ive seen more and more ep's getting modded and tuned. I think its affordability more than anything. Plus that k series that comes in the si trim is garbage. 160hp out of a 2.0 liter plus there heavy. You need rsx typeS head or the full swap. Like i said parts are much more expensive. They have grown on me in past few years though.

I like ep3's! I like eg's alot also, but I think if I had the money, I'd just go ahead and buy an ep3.

i think the eps r sick my friend has one and its really great to ride in and i was lookin into em but there to much$$$$$$ and its hard to find a blue one and everyone has the eg i looked at em too and i dont like how the eg has a tailgate instead of a hatch

For the price of an ep3 you could get mitsubishi gs-t, gs-x, integra, 240, 300zx, mustang...the list goes on...

the EP resale value is horrible compared to the 99-00 si. hell. i own an EP. fell in love with it the first i saw it back in sports compact. ( some 01 issue).

they handle like a dream. beeter than the type s and 99-00 si. and if you turbo both the stock k20a2 and the k20a3, you get the same numbers.

ep: slower, too "space shuttle" looking, awkward shifter placement *rally attempt has failed*, still looks too tall unless you do the typical "honda slam" and no wheels seem to fit it quite right. they made the body too big imo.

EG: easier to tune, has a huge cult following, equal mods would make the EG a better track car IMO, its got a good shape.

EG is way lighter. Honda tuners take that into deep consideration since power isnt really an option.

i like the way EP3's look in the back, in the front, well i dont like its to..well...femalish i would buy it for my girl or sumthin, EP3's are for girls

i would'nt drive a eg or sumthin old like that, i would only have an old hatch for racing purposes only cuz of it's lightweight, other than that, fcuk old cars for DD

EP's are still very popular everywhere else cuz they got the type r trim. boast an EP3 and a DC5, and your getting a 5 horsepower diffrence. EP's rock

The ep's are huge there like mini vans and if you don't slam them they handle like ****. but slamming them messes with the bump steer. The eg is much more simple and if done right it is just sexy

i've driven both and they r completely different cars... kinda hard to compare. all they really have in common is that they r both honda hatchs. and the shifter setup on the ep3 is pretty cool... dunno if its necessarily better but its something different at least

Eg's imo look better, have more parts available for it, and also you can drop almost any Honda/Acura motor in it with little to no modifications.

To make it simple. Eg is very cheap to buy, its super light, you can get parts anywhere for it since everyone has them.

On the other hand, Ep cost more to buy, Heavy , There's not that many aftermarket parts offered as much as EGs do, cost a lot to make it fast.

how do i look uncomfortable?? lol.... but i have an ep and of ourse im gunna say i like it bc i have one, but It definetly needs to be quicker and it is huge for being a 2door hatch i dont thinkk i have ever been able to sit in the backseat of a 2door car without touching front seats but theres plenty of room in the back of the ep lol...i like the shifter its a diffrent feel. overall im happy would be happier with some speed though but that comes with time. ;)
