So does anyone know if it'll hold on an aluminum head, for a temp. fix. Just an exhaust leak at the manifold. And please none of this you'll burn a valve stuff.

cant just use 2 gaskets? i wouldnt put it onmy heads. i would think itll blow out but i dnt know what temp its rated to either.

well it had a bolt broken off in the head when I bought it, but the gasket was sealed....I put headers on it and now it leaks, no room to remove it with the head on the car. And I cant pull the head yet, so need something for a couple weeks.

From what I have heard, it will not work. A friend of mine tried it for a temp. fix on his 73 (might be a 72, whichever one had the NACAR hood) GTO. I forgot what he said it did, but it was a waste of time. I wouldn't try it. Just get it fixed as soon as possible. My .02

gotcha. honestly i dnt think itll work bc u need something to pull the manifold to the head not build the head up towards the manifold. the heat and pressure of the exhaust gases will prolly just blow through the jb weld.

yeah I was hoping the gasket would seal up but I guess not, and theres not enough threads to put a stud in it.

Get some liquid muffler weld at your local auto parts store. It'll probably hold for a little bit, but will burn off eventually.

jb weld wont hold. it will burn off in the first few heat cycles.

cant you buy some of those gaskets where they have a hook shape on the first and last bolt? even though its striped you can still put something in tohold it into place as you put the gaskets in and take out the rest of the bolts then try to double up 2 gaskets and slide em down between the header and head and they should hang on the 1st and last bolt then put ur bolts back in and see where this goes, lol. i started out with stroked small blocks and in a pro street S-10 you get used to these quick tight spot fixes.

well I'll try the 2 gaskets then, yes the Mr.Gasket ones do have the hooks, but they aren't that great.

yeah they are not, but theres also some soft seal type that conform as you torque it down at the local advanced auto at least they are here. but if you use the mr g tighten em good and checkem for a couple weeks. its easy for bolts to back out on an aluminum head

JB Weld specifically says on the package not to use it on exhaust manifolds...
