I've done a lot of stupid shet in my day, but I was thinking about what's the one thing that I have done to better my life. and all I kept thinking was when I quit my high school, I know lots of people are gonna say that's the stupidest thing you can do, but in all reality, my life has been a lot better since I don't have to deal with petty bs at school. ( I now have a GED and am applying as a lineman for GeorgiaEMC. )

Lineman is what I do, have worked under Cobb EMC, and now Marietta Power...but I work for a contractor (Pike) so get none of the Government benefits. Good job and plenty of room to move up, good pay, but can be dangerous. Most people just don't know how dangerous that job is.

You married the drunks wife too? ah well, these are new times. lol jk

Think one of the best decisions I made was to finish school. Almost wrecked my whole life and future up when I wanted to drop out. Another thing is, after my dad committed suicide when I was 13, I blamed myself... I almost ended my life because I felt guilty even though I had nothing to do with it. I didn't think I could take the pain(I know I will probably get flamed for this, but I don't care)... I am thankful I didn't and I have been given such a great out look on life now... Things are going in my favor. :goodjob:

congrats on the GED, pyro.

If anyone flames you for that they need a swift kick in the berries to ensure they can't reproduce. Sorry to hear about that, good to see you made it through. As for me, I've made more bad decisions than good, especially my DUI which is the reason I average 20 posts a day here, lol. Being stuck at home ftl. I'd say my gf right now is at least up there, she's helped me through a lot of things.

Some of the best things I've done have been deciding NOT to do something. One stands out in particular but I'm not going into details. :)

I understand you completely. As stated above, if someone flames....... :boxing:

I almost dropped out of college after my dad passed away my sophmore year. His final wish (from his close friend who was there) was for me to finish school. Best damn advice, motivation, and decision ever!

Hopefully I have more to come.

If you get flamed people have no heart.

The best decision I ever made was to follow through with what others wanted me to do, and that was to battle cancer. I had accepted my fate (the cancer is pretty bad) but my friends and family begged me to fight for my life. Chemo sucks balls, but hearing that the cancer in my small intestine is no longer there, the masses I had on both kidneys has decreased was/is well worth it.

Props to you:goodjob: I fought breast cancer 2 years ago. Early detection saved my life. Chemo does suck. And radiation turns you lobster red. I made the mistake of not telling anyone and going through it alone (had a$$hole BF at the time) Still have the tumor but I have been cancer free for 1 1/2 years and have zero scars;)

Best thing i have done would be getting out of broadcast school and going to EMT/paramedic school. 2nd best would be marring my future wife. and third would be quiting my job with Forsyth Co. EMS and going to work for Puckett EMS, we run 911 for the south end of Cobb ( Mabelton, Powder springs, austell ).

besides marrying my wife, i would say deciding to move to savannah to finish college w/ a bachelor's instead of settling w/ a associates and staying back home where its "safe" (all of mine and my wife's family live like 10mins. away from each other). we took a risk and moved far away from home and i feel like i know her better in 3 months of marriage and living together than i ever did in the 5 years we dated......self discovery FTW LoL.

Not listening to pressure about going back to school and getting done quickly, and doing it at my own pace. If I had blitzed through in 4 years I would have gotten mediocre grades and would have graduated 2 years ago with a degree that would have gotten me nowhere. Took some "me" time, got my head straightened out, set out a life plan, and am now back in the game. Wouldn't change that decision for the world.

That's pretty much the best decision I've made so far in life.

For me it was leaving GA southern, coming back to Marietta, getting a sick job and finishing school up here. My head is more clear up here and I feel like I am closer to my goals every day (Graduating and working internationally).
