View Full Version : need help ASAP! for computer science class!

ok so i have to take a screen shot of this thing that i have to do for a lab for my computer science class. i have done everything has asked me to do and im ready to take a screen shot. following the directions and what not and opening up word to paste it in it wont ****ing paste screenshot. Now im using vista, and my computer is a compaq that doesnt just OUTRIGHT say PRINT SCREEN, it has prt sc under the insert button that im assuming is the print screen button. well pressed shift and that button and not **** happen when i put it into ****ing word. what am i doing wrong?

hold ALT and tap F4 a few times, then press print screen and hit pate

ALT + F4 a couple of times.

If the screen closes, then you're doing it wrong.

You gotta do it real fast for it to work.

Copy it to MS PAINT - then xfer to word. Also try FUNCTION + PRT SCR, not SHIFT.

BTW - if you can't even PRT SCR, you are in the wrong class already. You're gonna be hatin' life when they actually make you print to the actual printer - ur gonna be f*cked.

do ctrl + prtsc then paste it in paint.

ok i also just did it in word and it worked. make sure you hold down ctrl AND press prtsc WHILE holding down ctrl

On most laptops you have to hold the function key and press print screen.

LOL man you're off to a rough start. Have you done any ipchains work or set up any PDCs yet? Oh yeah try PINE for a text editor instead of notepad.

I know, right. I have a degree in Comp. Sci.... it's going to get a LOT harder. LOL.

Anyway, are print screen and insert on the same key or is it on a key under insert?

If it's the same key, as was said above, you have to use the function key.
