Couldn't get it to shift from 2-3 at WOT, so right after the 1/8th I let off and coasted through. Need to get a VSS, and my shift points reset to get an accurate time. With a decent 60' hoping for a high 12.

If you cut that 2.2 down to a low 1.6 or 1.5 you've knocked off .6 in the 1/8th.

That alone gives you a 7.9, however when you cut that much off your 60 you can typically get even more off the 1/8th. So lets say with a 1.6 60' you cut a 7.8 - 7.9

7.8 in the 1/8th is roughly 11.8 - 12.0 in the 1/4th. Even lower with a good geared back halfing car.

My camaro did some 7.45 // 11.5-11.8 runs.

The math is easy to do.

My GTO ran some low 8.2's and ran 12.7 in the 1/4th.

Well, I have cut 1.8 60' times more than once. My car still wasn't in the 11's. Trapped over 112, still wasn't in the 11's. Ran at your favorite uber faster than anything else track, and still wasn't in the 11's. Bottomline? I don't have an 11 sec car any way you slice it, yet I've hit all the numbers your magic calculator says will net me an 11 sec pass.

Considering that I beat both your 60', 1/8th, and 1/4 times on the same exact track, on the exact same night, under the exact same conditions........does that now make me the king ding-a-ling launch master now then????? I mean since we're using magic calculators and stuff.

Sigh.

112 mph is plenty to get into the 11's. It would be VERY high 11's, but if it hooked it'd be in the 11's.

Cut a 1.5 - 1.6 60', and then run 112 mph and your ass is in the 11's.

A 1.8 isn't going to get you into the 11's with a 112 pass.

YOU don't have an 11 second car, because your **** doesn't hook.

Exactly my point.

Anytime I see a car that runs 110-113 mph that is in the 12's or 13's... I think that car has 11 potential if the guy would drive it, and make it hook like it should to be a quarter mile contender.

Suspension, drivetrain, and then power. If you want a car that works on the dragstrip.

Sadly, you boys only seem to be interested in the "look how big my dic.k is" idea of racing. You add all this HP.... do nothing to make it hook.... and then you all go doing rolling starts like nascar or some ****.

My "sh!t" doesn't "hook", yet it "hooked" enough to beat YOUR super duper launch machine...by a lot.......what's that say for you?????

I'm so tired of arm chair QBs and all this talk about shoulda, woulda, coulda......:jerkit: It gets old. Especially since stock G8's were running same or better times than you were with your so called-stock machine. I also noticed that if the amount of people around you last night is an indication of the amount of friends you have IRL, then I understand your bitterness and boasting since it must be very lonely when off-line.

Stop talking all the smack already like you're some kind of racer. I was doing real racing in real American muscle cars and imports when you weren't even a tad pole in your old man's scrotum, yet you don't see me going around patting myself on the back like I'm the John Force of street racing. LOL. What are you talking about?

My GTO has been on jack stands for about 2 weeks now, I've got 2-3 people that can confirm that. It hasn't left my house.

Infact, I got a ticket stub from seeing Death Race saturday night at 9:50 pm at Carmike Cinemas in NEWNAN, GA.

Whoevers car you saw run , DEFINITELY wasn't mine.

Was the car missing its spoiler? Was it on 19" Black Chrome NICHE rims? I highly doubt it. That is funny tho. You see a ****ty driver in a slower truely stock GTO and your nuts flair up. Maybe you should call me out to the street?

According to statistics, calculating collected data from past time slips and current records on a certain car - Thacker seems to be pretty accurate with this post. To some extent, why? Because unlike him, Jaime doesn't own a Camaro/GTO, so this theory is invalid since every car isn't going to perform the same. And just because one car traps 110 and hits an 11 sec pass doesn't necessarily mean another car will too. Common physics.

The physics come into play, mostly in how the car leaves the line.

Any car can be anything they are built to be. If I didn't want A/C, Leather heated seats, Cruise Control, Traction Control, Climate Control, PW, PDL, PW and heated mirrors, full stereo, TV's, amps, speakers, BBK, completely STOCK motor.....I could do this all day long you know.....then I would've built me a car that would run on the 1/4. But since I just have a DAILY DRIVER, with 150K+ to boot, then I'll just leave all the macho chest pounding about your car "hooking" on DR's:rolleyes: to you. How about that?

Here you go Thacker......a REAL racer speaking. Funny how a Lexus doesn't "hook up", huh? Like Clark said, you're an idiot.

Like I told your young punk a$$ before, you THINK you know about "racing" when you're no more than Monday morning QB pulling numbers from thin air that coincide with your ego.

Clark, this kid loves to talk a ton of smack but keeps his super uber secret race track numbers from his so-called "stock"....wink, wink.....GTO to himself because like all good street racers he wants to bait people into street racing. Yet ironically enough I saw a guy that looked identical to him, driving a blacked out GTO, with black wheels, no spoiler, GF in the car, that cut an uber fast and blazing 13.9 in the super duper end all "hook" car.....

He claims to be the one and only "stock" GTO to be in the low 12's or something like that. Because we all know that there are tons of production "stock" cars busting out 12's right off the showroom floor.

Whatever. He just gets on my nerves with all his constant bragging and opinionating.

My first time at the track in 7yrs and having no clue as to what I was doing. Also, my gearing/tire size SUCKS for 1/4 mi. I was running out 4th about 200-250ft before the last beams... so by the time i'd shift to 5th and get back into boost it was nearly pointless. So on this run i just ran 4th, bumped the fuel cut and coasted. If i go again, i'll either be running a smaller wheel/tire and short shifting into 5th OR run a taller race slick (not a DR, just some sticky slicks i have sitting around) so 4th will get me through the lights.

This was on my bogged launch on Nitto NeoGen street tires. I know with even a better street tire {different size} and good launch I should be in the very low 13's and ~105mph+

`yes untuned..... my snap-on scanner shows air fuel to be inrange throughout rpms so i decided to hit the track to see how it does . its just a starting point to see where my car stands and what i need to do to it.

Same senario though, drove it there and didn't cool it off. What programmer do you have? An old cobra I had, had the same mods as yours except for the exhaust. It had the factory h-pipe, and a mac cat back. With a diablo predator, it made 480 to the wheels with a pretty much perfect tune right out of the programmer. holy hell. I have the predator with the box pulley tune. Im looking to get a borla stinger catback and ditch this factory piping. I've been hearing that you can actually make more power with a catted mid pipe vs. an o/r unit. You know anything about that?

Generally with an O/R midpipe you will loose slightly more low end, but make up for it and then some up top compared to a catted mid pipe.

Not really stock motor with cams. They are shricks so they are really mild. I did the cams to shift the power band and torque band higher strictly for corner exits. If you look what Mike did to my power band on my dyno sheet you can see it is heaven for a track day. In all honesty it's not much faster than it was. I believe I gained 2mph and .25 seconds off my almost stock passes but a minimum of a second on Road A. Your 3.15 rear ass helps your MPH too. You and me both have room to hit low 13's with a good 60ft. My car does have an extra weight of the 4 point too and all the interior. We'll see what it does when I throw this S54 in it...if I do.

Well this is my first time drag racing ever, so I was satisfied with a 13.7. Really all my car has is intake, exhaust, off the shelf TRM chip, and a killer diet plan. I weighed in at 2,775 at the scale. You have any tips for launching? I ran a 15.2 at 99.97 MPH on my second pass spinning into 3rd gear, but I gained 24.4 MPH from the 1/8th to the 1/4.

I know it's damn good. I figured your car was a high 13's@101 but i'm not going lie that chip must be doing something..
From my experience M3's with a lot of weight taken out of them have a hard time hooking. JWorms had that problem and so did that fishforlife kinda ricey kid who couldn't get a 60ft without full slicks.. Part of it has to do with springs rates + no weight over the back. Obviously it plays a roll in hop and is terrible if their real stiff (how they should be) but even with my 535 rears my worst 60' of the day was 2.2x. I'd recommend you just feather it out...traction is a big problem on 235 street tires, if it's hot out you won't run for shi.t no matter what. The track just won't have the grip for you.. On a cool night feather it out and keep on the clutch but don't release it and let it spin until around 20mph then release like you are not initiating a "slight" spin until you are already on your way..it'll either bounce a little, spin slightly or you'll notice your RPM's jump then suddenly shoot up fast and you'll hook as good as the track will let you with a 1.9 or 2.0x 60ft. The smoother you are the faster you will go, like all racing. If you smell your clutch burn your probably doing it right..but stock ones can hook without a bad smell. That's what I decided worked best in my car.

If you can get a 1.9x you should start to see low 13's. I'd post those times on BF.c and praise that chip or something. That car is FAST and is very very stock.

My rear springs are 520 lbs. If you watch my first run, no bounce when shifting. You can also see NO launch whatsover:

wow...bored are we...? Mabye i was at sdr on a bad day but the time i went it sucked...I also run street tires not slicks. 2.0 60's on street tires with a fwd is not easy. But think as you will....I can see how you got all your neg reps.....

That is smart. The car won't even hook in its current setup, so lets throw more HP to it.

He never said anything about adding hp will make it hook better. Why dont you race his lil wimpy red hatch. It's not boosted. :goodjob: Should be a sure thing for a mighty driver like yourself.

Commerce is not to bad if you run slicks.

SDR is more friendly for the majority of us who run on street tires...

that night sucked.

feather the clutch too much = clutch slip
let off too hard = wheel hop
granny shift = zzzz

hard to drive that night especially with the rain
