How crappy is this? I'm heading home from a buddies house last night when all the sudden my dash lights go out. The clock and radio are still working, just no dash lights. So just as luck would have it I'm a half mile from my house and I get pulled over. Cop comes up and tells me my taillights and tag lights are out and thats why she pulled me over, I point to the dash and tell her that they just went out on my way home. I proceed to also show her that my signals are still working and tell her that I'm heading home to get it fixed as soon as dalight comes back around. Freaking ( Insert swear ) cop still writes me a ticket.

Theres got to be some way of getting out of this.

Theres got to be some way of getting out of this.

There is. Pay your ticket and fix the problem. Case closed. Later, QD.

I doubt it. You might get lucky but It's your responsibility to maintain your vehicle.

If you rearended someone because their taillights werent working and they said they just went out. Chances are you would still file the claim to get your car fixed.

(technically it would be you fault but using that as a hypothetical situation)

you could possibly beat it - fix it show judge - worse case you have to pay it and waste some time at court

people do it w/ tint tickets all the time

Same thing happened to me in my 240sx I used to have, it was some blown fuses. Nice hillbilly cop "escorted" me to advanced auto parts and told me to have a good night lol.

Thats exactlly what it was, blown fuse...I really hope I can take this to court and have them throw it out...Fuses blow all the time, what do they honestly expect you to do about it?

probably replace the fuses when they go out...

well if fuses are blowing all the time, you might have a larger problem than you think... fuses blow for a reason...

Fuses dont just "go out" or blow for no reason... you have issues if your blowing fuses.

Do you have ANY idea what the most common "excuse" a person pulled over for driving with no tail lights is?

They just went out a minute ago.
The fuse just blew.

I guarantee you that AT LEAST 90% of that is BS just to try to get out of it.

Later, QD.
