Well im thinking about importing me a skyline from japan. I found few cars that are cheap, but im not sure if i can trust these guys. And I know it usually takes 3+ months to get your car. But im just not sure how everything works out when you import a car, how much would the shipping be, how much and what troubles would i go through to get it registered over in USA. And i really want a RHD also. And im being serious, all name calling, and BS keep it to your self.

Any help would be helfpull.

This is the web site that i came accross "http://www.japan-partner.com".

And here are few skyline i was interested in.

...ccc lol give me a sec. And i found out how much shipping would be to East Coast, 2,800. So basically you can have a decent GTR for about 12k.

then you will be paying for legalization of the car... then you will be paying for insurance on a "not so american car"

yea i know all that. Thats why i made this topic to get some info from guys that imported cars and see how much everything costs. I'm guessing its a bad thing to import a car, but it's good to ask.

Shipping will run around 3k. Get the engine out and declare it as parts, a running car will raise flags at customs. As for registering depends on where you live and how you do it. Don't pay someone to register it for you, they do nothing you can't do yourself. You can get it registered and insured (Progressive insures anything;)) but the car will never really be legal.

You can only legalize a R33... out of the skylines, so I read.

Did you know what a Skyline was before F&F?

You might be able to get a 18 year old r32 for 12,000 but it won't have a title and unless you know people it won't be able to be registered. You usually can't buy a gtr for 12000 landed in the USA running. So I'd be weery of people like that.

There's a few gtst on here for sale. And you can find a gtr in the states for prob 16000+ with no title and 20000+ with a state title.

To be honest its a bad time to be importing because USA govt is cracking down hard. and if you think 12000 for a old car with no title is a good investment.......

some advice: your not gonna get the info you need from this site if you are really serious about this. On top of that, i wouldn't recommended doing this to anyone. If you are that desperate for an overpriced car that lets you sit on the right side, just buy one that is already over here.

Just wait for rupertaker to get tired of driving one of his ultra JDM vehicles.

I believe he sold a TRUE Spec 96 ? Integra for like 7 with no title or any papers, just bill of sale.
