I think it's because some people really think it's the most unique piece of machinery on this planet. And they can't live without people feeling the same way. Don't get me wrong, the new GT-R is an awesome car all around, very well balanced and looks incredibly nice. But like I said in another thread, I would much rather have a new 997 911 Turbo over the new GT-R. It's all just personal preference.

btw, I have seen it in person, To me it was "Okay" because it was the first one I saw, But was not drop dead sexy to me? To me they tried to over style the car and made it quite unattractive. As far as performance, I will MANY other cars over the GTR any day. my over sized go kart lets me enjoy lots of fun, granted having driven better more electronic cars (R34, lambo's, SLR McLarens, Ferrari's etc etc) they are nice but it takes away from half of the skill you need to posses... b/c the computer figures all the "real" work out you keep your foot down on any of the 3 pedals and turn the wheel and the car will save you ass...

i prefer cars that make you work and improve you... reason why i hate ABS. (it might save your ass once in a while but its a pain in my ass down here on the island...fuggin S2k's)

I mean really? I have seen so many threads where people get so mad if you dont agree that the GTR is the best car on the planet? Are you GTR fans such d*ck riders that you cant see straight?

The GTR is a good car, wont deny that, But there are other cars out there better, and so what if everyone doesnt like it? You all assume if someone says they dont like it they are jealous, etc.... Not everyone will like the car, so I assume those of you who get that pissy about people who dont like it must be blowin the guys who assemble it?

I'm actually a big fan of the GT-R...and I feel the same way.

Alternatively the people who act identically about the ZR1 are just as big ****riders. The worst part is that most of these people are never going to care about seeing these cars race against each other. There's no competition like there was even 20 years ago when the BNR32 came out and Godzirra stormed every Group A race it could get into with such absolute dominance that Group A started to fall apart. Now we race with plastic tubeframe cars with non-homologated race-built V-8's that are crate boxes identical to one another. The cars all weigh in the same weight range and everything is all balanced and "Fair" but there's no reason to really root for a car or anything any more. It's all pointless because even if you watch DTM...you can't root for the A4's and really be cheering on an A4...I mean they have a V8 that's only related to the RS4 engine, fighting against Mercedes that usually have V6's running an engine that's almost identical to spec's. Bleh. Why get all hyped up about a car...that even if you DID own it, you could never push to it's limits? If something doesn't change about the american car scene...and by that I mean to say if people don't begin to understand that there's more to cars besides dragracing and '69 Mustangs and Chevelles...then we can expect that soon America will have nothing at all to show for it's desires for performance except electronically limited 75mph max cars that have to meet a ridiculous 45mpg highway mandate.
