I need a good web designer......badly. I am in the military and a friend and I have started work on a website for military. The problem is that the company we used said that it would take 10wks to complete this website.....that was back in March.....so you see the problem we are having. I will talk to anyone who would like to know what the website is about and might be interested in the website. Early predictions show that this website will be along the lines of MYSPACE and FACEBOOK as far as size and amount of web traffic. I know that most of you will think this is BS but my friend and I have done the research and we have gotten calls from ABC and the USO so that we can be sponsors for Willie Nelson and American Idol on Veterans Day, on television in NOV so we have to get this thing rolling right away. The website will be ran by soldiers for soldiers, simple as that. We have alot of advertisers looking to get on the site....but the problem is that the site is only half finished. We had an MIT grad working on it, but he turned out to be a lazy ****. The company that we were using has since fired that guy and said that they have another programmer that will take over. That was a week ago and we have yet to hear anything........So call me or pm me and I will get back to you asap. 706-429-3817
One of my frat brothers does sites that receive a great deal of traffic, and he's also opening a facebookesque type web company, so I'll try and talk to him today if you'd like. I'll see if I can get him to contact you, too. Good luck regardless!

good luck w/ your site but your dreaming if you think you will get as much traffic as myspace/facebook ;)
i'm sure you will have some smart ass remark for my criticism but i do web development for a living and everyone wants to be the next myspace/facebook. you may have some great unique idea but trying to duplicate major sites will not take away from their traffic but increase it. no one builds over night a 50+ million dollar site.
good luck w/ your website - if you need some developer contacts let me know i know some freelance guys who maybe able to help.

Ya I know that it won't be on that scale of traffic.....but sites that are like the one that I am working on charge the service member to join......and they have nearly 1 million members.....all that pay by the month......mine is free, and considering what I doing for service members and there families.......also have the USO and ABC calling me, wanting me to hurry up with the site so that I can be a Sponsor for the start of the next USO tour that will be on ABC on Veteran's Day and will have Willie Nelson and American Idol Mark Cook. That is was I am working with and the company that I was using has dropped the ball. So in short.....i need help asap

Just a small bit of advice...you get what you pay for. You are looking for a good web designer...not only that, you need a talented web programmer. In the scope and scale, the project you are looking at should bid for quite a bit. Do you have 10 or 20 grand you are willing to drop? If so, I know quite a few developers that I can refer you to.
And some general advice to go along with it....you want cheap, fast, and good, and it is only ever possible to get up to two of those at a time.
