I hate this with a passion.
I paid at least $500 to dealerships in the past, for several Radio codes on Acura and Hondas.
Is there anyway around it?

I don't know why you have to pay any money. It should be free. I bought my car used and there wasn't any manual or code. I went to a local Honda dealer and asked them for it. They will need you to prove the ownership of the car. In order to give you the code, they have to have to serial on top or on the back of the player. They told me they wanted $50 to pull the cd player out to read the serial number. I knew that they would try to get my money so I already pull it out and ahead of time. The code was given to me free.

the code should be in the car. either in the glove box, under the cup hold, under the ash tray, or under the arm rest.

if you pay a dealership money for a radio code, thats them being a douche, probably some guy making pocket change paying 500 is just straight retarded! they shouldnt be charging for that. open the glove box and look for a small white sticker. usually on the inside of the of the edges on the outside of the glove box. so that when its closed its against the dash. if you have a center console check there, pretty much check everywhere you can that opens on the dash or center console. different dealers use different spots.

also the sticker will have 2 diff. numbers on it..you need the 5 digit number one..

its a 4 digit code, but I think I'm screwed because I don't see a sticker anywhere.

Well I just call them tell them I am from SO AN SO SHOP...and they give it to me for free

call the dealer give them the serial number off the back of the radio an they look it up on Honda/acura website!
