PRELUDE HELP....!!!!

My speedometer is bouncing and occasionally does not operate at all. I was wondering if this is a symptom of a faulty speedometer head or perhaps a problem with the speed sensor where the speed cable actually attaches. Has anyone experienced this problem and if so, what did you do to correct it? Thanks in advance!

my friend bounces alot when he is taking off but after like 20 it calm. i would just look at both connection point. see if it all the way in the tranny and cluster
