China is very strict on that subject... That is why it is actually illegal for missionaries to go to China... The way around that is missionaries actually go as a teacher or into some other work field... There is big punishment for anyone caught with a bible or holding a church service even if it is in their own home...

They're lucky that they only got confiscated. China is very strict on that subject.

This is why you read up on what is and isn't permitted in a country BEFORE you go to it.

Well the person knew what they were doing and that's why he was hiding the bibles in his luggage. Like admin said he better be glad he wasn't sentenced to death that usually takes a week or so if lucky.

Good job China, screw religion :goodjob:

China’s officially atheistic government prohibits proselytizing and is worried that if the spread of religion goes unchecked, believers might ultimately challenge the Communist Party’s authority.

i just read the article and lol awesome statement - "religion goes unchecked" :lmao:

honestly an american going to china to protest and break laws is like a mexican coming here asking for rights. :2up:

Damn commies. But seriously, those people should've known better. Whether you like a country's laws or not you have to abide by them, a few christians aren't going to change a damn thing about China's laws.

true. As much as I disagree with some of the things China's goverment does, as least they stick by their word.
