Every1 that knows me will know that I have more cars than sense... and outside of the Oldsmobile Bravada tow rig and the 91 notch I pretty much stick w/ imports.

I have started the search for another daily driver since every other "daily driver" that I have purchsed in the last ohhhhh 15 years I can't seem to not mod - sooner or later the air conditioner just disappears and it's over - to include my tow-rig (don't ask about my Bravada's mods, but yes it's on the bottle - LOL).

So - i have ONE more vehicle purchase, and for me this is HUGE b/c the only Ford worth buying is the Stang, and even then it must be made between 88 - 93 (exception of the GT500 of course). At any rate... I was at Wal-mart today and I saw a... :ninja: FOCUS!!! It was quite simple... black on black, lowered, wheels, exhaust and for some reason I thought "man I could rock that."

Do I need to leave well-enough alone? Or is it a chassis worth throwing a simple blower/turbo on stock internals and using as a daily? Or maybe a hot cam and a bottle? I am stupid on this chassis so any ideas/suggestions/warnings will be appreciated.

go for it man, are you thinking a hatch or a sedan?

a buddy of mine has had his since he bought it new back in 01 or 02 and is still rockin it, they can be pretty clean, and his always ran pretty hard.

or you can do the V8 conversion and call it a day :ninja:

I've seen some that I'd love to own. And Black-on-Black is always a plus for me.

The GT-500 would be a waste of money.

The SVT Focus is a good platform, but probably will never be anything more than a nice daily driver unless you dump a lot of money into it.

The 88-93 Mustang would be the only one you would consider? heh Come on man.

Youd be better off with an SVT Tour. Thats personally what I would choose if you are on a budget for a daily driver.

Find an SVT and call it a day. SVT Contours are cool as **** too, another good option imo. Focus' are underrated, they can look good and be pretty quick if you know what to do with them.

Yeah I have a 91 notch. I do like the newer Stangs such as yours Jorge, but I wouldn't spend mmy money on one... it's a generation that I have learned to admire from a distance... no disrespect intended. If I do the Focus, yes I will stick w/ a 2 door hatch - the sedan doesn't do anything for me at all. The v8 swap is DEF outta the question - LOL - but I have heard of such - I think Turbo mag did one years ago.

I do like the look of the SVT Contour -- it's prob a bit more practical since I am a dad and it has 4 doors... but I have other cars to tool around in for my lil mama (daughter). Seeing that Focus made me wanna explore that chassis tho... I am a big baby and want everything that I see.

If you wanna get a Focus get a Mazda3. It's the same platform but the 3 is more performance oriented.

Zetec focus, are nice cars. But for modding, ive never been 100% on their internals. they arent the best turbo motors in stock form to me, but its possible to make 300hp on a stock zetec. But the Svt 2.0 motor, is Alot stronger...

Or you can get a escort gt/1st gen protege lx? it loves boost well, and already has forged rods/crank.. ready to take the poundage!

Svt contours are great to.. ive had all three of them... borrowed a freinds euro svt focus for a few weeks....

And my fav out of all is the contour.. - faster than the svt focus, and was alot more comfortable
svt focus takes premium..along with the contour
Gt's/lx's are really cheap..

Id say svt contour.. you can buy my old contour! its for sale!

I've got an SVT Focus. They're quirky cars sometimes, but definitely fun to drive.

I know brothers with svt car, focus and contour. The contour will leave him at the light, not by much, but on the highway the focus will past him...The focus is stock ,and the contour has I/E.Svt contour is better for long distance driving, but the focus is more fun to drive,to me.One more thing, contour are a ***** to work on,no room to do ****.You can allway swap a 3.0 in the contour :D
