An e-mail I was sent. I am sure a lot of you all have received it also. But for those of you who haven't, here it is. For all of those who are completely opposed to firearms this is for you too... Just a little entertainment...

The purpose of fighting is to win. There is no possible victory in defense. (waiting for attack)

The sword is more important than the shield, and skill is more important than either. The final weapon is the brain. All else is supplemental.

1. Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he'll just kill you.

2. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.

3. I carry a gun cause a cop is too heavy.

4. When seconds count, the cops are just minutes away.

5. A reporter did a human-interest piece on the Texas Rangers. The reporter recognized the Colt Model 1911 the Ranger was carrying and asked him 'Why do you carry a 45?' The Ranger responded, 'Because they don't make a 46.'

6. The old sheriff was attending an awards dinner when a lady commented on his wearing his sidearm.
'Sheriff, I see you have your pistol. Are you expecting trouble?'
'No Ma'am. If I were expecting trouble, I would have brought my rifle or a shotgun.'

7. Beware the man who only has one gun. HE PROBABLY KNOWS HOW TO USE IT!!!

But wait, there's more!

I was once asked by a lady visiting if I had a gun in thehouse. I said I did.
She said 'Well I certainly hope it isn't loaded!'
To which I said, of course it is loaded, can't work without bullets!'
She then asked, 'Are you that afraid of someone evil coming into your house?'
My reply was, 'No not at all. I am not afraid of the house catching fire either, but I have fire extinguishers around, and they are all loaded too.'
To which I'll add, having a gun in the house that isn't loaded is like having a car in the garage without gas in the tank.

i totally agree with everything here, i carry mine because i know that others carry theirs, but they may carry for the soul purpose of stealing, killing, and destroying whatever they want. one more gun in the hands of a person with good intentions can mean a lot for this country.

When I was into martial arts I had a guy come up to me and tell me that because he was a "such and such" that he could take a guy out of anyone's hands... I said hold on to that though, I walked back about twenty five feet and turned around. I said picture I have a loaded gun. You are a distance away from me. Please tell me how to take it away before I pull the trigger. lol... so I completely agree the only way to fight a firearm is with another firearm... Everyone believes that if everyone has a gun that it will be complete chaos... I believe it would actually take away a lot of the crime. Especially with as much background checks and info you have to go through to obtain a license.

U are Correct..Think ABout it..If there was a town that Had No gun laws and was known that Just about everyone in the town had a gun..How many car thefts would there be?..How many Muggings and car jackings would there be?..How many Store Robberies would there be?

Actually, I forget where it is (in the states) that it is required that every household owns at least one firearm... If I'm not mistaken it is rated as having the lowest crime-rate in the nation.

How to Get a Permit to Carry a Concealed Weapon in Georgia

Step1
Meet the license qualifications for Georgia. This is an extensive list addressed in Georgia Code 16-11-129 and can be found at www.packing.org. Basically, you have to be a resident of Georgia, a United States citizen and 21 years old with a clean criminal and mental history.
Step2
Contact the Probate Court in your county to get details on applying for a firearms permit, the fees and how to get fingerprinted. Typically, you will fill out the application before a court clerk and provide two sets of fingerprints at the local police station. Permits are usually issued within 60 days.
Step3
Provide a photo ID and proof of residency. A Georgia driver's license or state ID card will serve as both. Check with your local Probate Court for other qualifying documents. Once issued, the permit is still valid if you move to another state.
Step4
Pay the required fees. These include background check, application fee, fingerprinting fee and mental health fee.
Step5
Renew your permit every five years from 90 days of its expiration to 30 days after it has expired. The renewal fee will be the same as the initial fee.

taken from http://www.georgiapacking.org/law.php

Concealed Weapons: are defined as any bludgeon (asp baton, nun chucks, ect), metal knuckles, firearm (this means ANY firearm capable of being concealed, not just handguns), knife designed for the purpose of offense and defense (swords, ballistic knives), or any other dangerous or deadly weapon or instrument that is not carried in an open manner and fully exposed to view. For weapons to be considered not to be concealed, the weapon grip or the handle must NOT be hidden or covered up by the person's clothing or in the person's pockets (unless the grip is completely exposed). Weapons MUST be able to be visible through ordinary observation. This law does not apply to carrying a concealed weapon in a person's own home, and place of business (including the property of the business is located on IF it is owned by the business owner). In order to be exempt from carrying a concealed weapon without a license at your place of business, you MUST have permission from the business owner. This law does not permit, outside of a person's home, motor vehicle, or place of business, the concealed carrying of a pistol, revolver, or concealable firearm by any person unless that person has on his or her person a valid license issued under Code Section 16-11-129 (http://www.georgiapacking.org/GaCode/?title=16&chapter=11&section=129) and even then the person may only carry the pistol, revolver, or concealable firearm only in a shoulder holster, waist belt holster, or any other holster (ankle holster, crotch holster, fanny pack holster, pocket holster, ect) and also a hipgrip or any other similar securing device (a hipgrip is a type of grip that has a clip sticking out to hook on to your belt or pants, a similar device to the hipgrip is a clip) at which point the weapon MAY BE concealed by the person's clothing, or handbag, purse, briefcase, or any other close container. (Concealed carry is an option but is NOT required to carry a firearm. Firearms can be openly carried. However if you are concealing, the firearm MUST be carried in a holster, clip or similar type of securing device)

i think what julio is referring to is.. there is no such thing as a 'concealed carry permit' there is only a 'firearms license' which i have right here in front of me.

i am not the type of person to boast about owning a firearm, or carrying it on my persons, but i do carry it at all times. I will not inform people exactly what i carry, it is none of your business to know what i may use against you if you feel the need to threaten my life.

true, i think we submitted our posts at the same time.

you can only carry a weapon concealed on your person, following certain guidlines as well with the 'firearms license'.

this statement proves such.

''This law does not permit, outside of a person's home, motor vehicle, or place of business, the concealed carrying of a pistol, revolver, or concealable firearm by any person unless that person has on his or her person a valid license issued under Code Section 16-11-129 and even then the person may only carry the pistol, revolver, or concealable firearm only in a shoulder holster, waist belt holster, or any other holster (ankle holster, crotch holster, fanny pack holster, pocket holster, ect) and also a hipgrip or any other similar securing device (a hipgrip is a type of grip that has a clip sticking out to hook on to your belt or pants, a similar device to the hipgrip is a clip) at which point the weapon MAY BE concealed by the person's clothing, or handbag, purse, briefcase, or any other close container.

Actually my friend...you are referring to Kennesaw, GA. You can look it up online to verify that Im correct on that.

When I was in High School, my family lived in Kennesaw, and though it is not enforced, it technically states that every "Head of the household" in Kennesaw must own a working firearm.

I will state that IIRC correctly many magazines, surveys etc (reputable sources) have listed Kennesaw as one of the safest cities in the country to raise a family...coiniciedence? (sp)

No one wants to break into a house there, knowing most likely that 80%-90% of the home owners have a small aresenal lol
