Need Some Advice

Ok I used to work at a dealership which i quit about a month or so ago. My reason for leaving was that I found out that I had been lied to and had been cheated out of about $200.

They way it works is that the actual corporation gives a $ ammount bonus every month per every car you sell for that month. You recieved the money on a debit card at the end of the following month. The first month that I was there I stayed on my manager about making sure he registered me for the program so that I would get my money after hearing rumors that a lot of times they take the new guys money and give it to the floor managers.

A week before the deadline to be registered for the month he and i sit down and he "registers" me. At the end of june when the money was to be paid I called said company to make sure they had mailed my card out. Come to find out I was never registered and when I saw the actual registration screen it was different from the one that my manager showed me.The manager that said that he registered me had already quit and took a new position elsewhere so there was no way for me to confront him. Needless to say with that I left.

Now there was still another $100 to be paid to me by the dealership itself. They ran a program that for ever Perfect 10 you got on a new car survey you would get $50. The week after I quit I went up there to collect said check and they didn't have it. At this point I'm livid and say to my new manager "you know this is ridiculous I was lied to and have had $300 taken out of my pocket" to which he responds "hey that happens around here sometimes".

Now after this he said that he would talk to the owner and see about at least cutting me a check for the survey's. Another week goes by and he tells me that the check is going to be cut and that he will call me when it's ready. A week goes by and nothing so I go by and ask and he doesn't know what to tell me. It's been like this everyweek for the last month and I'm really tired of it. I could have probably took these guys to small claims already and got the whole $300. I'm really trying to avoid that so my question is what's the next step? Who else inside the store can I talk to?

if i was you i would go to the payroll division and ask them if they have been given any information on cutting you a check, if they say no tell them the situation and if that doesn't work go back to the owner tell them you need the money that it is against the law to hold your money and that you will be going to a lawyer and taking them to small claims court(just tell them that at first) if that doesn't work then call the department of labor and tell them what they are doing to you, then last resort take them to court. UPDATE:

Ok so I finally got in touch with the woman in charge of HR and she tells me off the bat she has no idea what check she's talking about and that no information has been submitted to her for a check to be cut. She then tells me that I need to talk to my manger(this should be good). SHe transfers me back and I get more of the same. Doesn't answer his desk phone or his cell phone. So I call the general line for the story and just my luck his little cover girl answers the phone and tells me to hang on one sec. She comes back and gives me the same story that I've been getting for the last month that he's waiting on the owner's approval.

This is getting ridiculous.

If you have anything in writing, I would make it a legal matter, but it sounds like a lot of "they told me this, that and the other". Sorry man, that sucks. Beating his azz would probably feel damn good, but those battery charges are gonna suck.

That's the funny thing I never got a copy of my pay plan. You are supposed to sign it when you are hired and I never got a copy to sign

Final UPDATE:I called back up there and spoke with the head of HR. Turns out she had no idea what I was talking about and told me I had to speak to my manager.She transfers me over there and same as the last two weeks he refuses to answer. So I called the general sales line and get my manager's cover girl who puts me on hold for 15 seconds and then tells me that the check is "waiting approval" which tells me now that my manager is full of ****.

So I call back to HR and tell them the entire story of how much money I got screwed out of and how. So she tells me she will talk to my manager. 2 hours later no phone call. So I call back and get this BS that I am no longer entitled to anything because I don't work there. So she transfers me to my manager who FINALLY decides to answer my phone. He comes on and I ask him what's going on and he tells me I'm waiting on Scott(OWNER) to approve it. OK :thinking: So I ask him when the last time he talked to him and he wouldn't answer the question directly and he simply says I've talked to him plenty of times. So I ask him what the hold up is and he's like I can't make the guy pay up if he doesn't want to. I was like ok well when can you tell me for sure? Which he responds to look I'm tired of being nice to you, your not hearing me I can't make him pay if he doesn't want to. So I finally just lost it and was like "You call lying to me taking $300 out of my pocket and giving it to someone else while giving me the run around for the last month being nice? Why not grow a pair and just say hey your not getting paid?"


In short KIA of Union City and I would expect Nissan of Union City and United Nissan in Morrow are all a bunch of low down lying crooks who take money out of their employees pockets with no explination :2up: .
