View Full Version : When milling the head down, how much is safe?

Simply put in the subject; If im running stock pistons and stock valves, and i want to get my head milled, and i take it to the machineshop, how much should i have them take off of it so my engine will still run safely? This is for a Honda B-series engine.

they arent going to take off too much if they are smart. Take it to Dover Heads. I only deal with them when It comes to head....lol

you dont tell them how much too,
just tell them to...check it ,deck it, clean it! your good to go!
BTW how is your eye going to tell how much needed to be shaved? only the machine can say!

Now, let me see; If i have my head milled like that, and i want a bigger cam? Will that work out, or will i end up pushing my valves through my pistons like that?
