i'm looking for all 3 (carpet, hardwood, and tile). where would you recommend buying the products? i've read some bad things about lumber liquidators, ifloor, floor and decor, etc. which are the most reliable and quality stores in the atlanta area?

What is your location? I have a guy that does all our work. Very reasonable and professional.

I did my own pergo and tile, but for carpet I have seen both home dumpo and empire work and both seemed to be high quality and very reasonably priced.

Carpet... Home depot and Empire like the man said.

Hardwood. **** theres a store around here if I can remember the name...

And Tile, again another tile store I cant remember the name. Its in Marietta.

Honestly its not the big places, its the little back in the wall places that have the better material Ive found.

house is up in alpharetta. i've done pergo before and wasn't that hard. i'm looking at engineered hardwoods now which requires a bit more work. i'll check out empire for carpet. i'd rather stay away from the big box stores.

I understand why you would say that, but I honestly was impressed with the quality of work they did at a friends house. They also do price matching in case you find it cheaper.

We just had empire do our carpet in our house today, very nice quality work. I'd recommend them.

My dad has been using the same carpenter/handyman for years... he did a lot of the work on our old house, which was custom built for us, and for our current one, which they basically gutted and customized fully. Top notch work and good prices. He's in Athens, let me know if you want his number.
