Each long block is handmade and you cant go pick up a block from the junkyard. Each engine is specifically designed for each car, so if you destroy your engine say goodbye and hello $28000 for a new engine.

I understand the need for some good oil for the GT-R BUT WTFUDGE!!! What does it have magical loli magic in the oil or something. Does the lube make the GT-R sing happier.

mocha latte cupcake
08-06-2008, 03:15 PM
well using another oil other than specified GTR approved NISSAN DISTRIBUTED oil only will void your warranty i've been told...

so OEM in this case is your only choice i see.

actually each GTR is waxed by japanese loli's and given the "happy ending" before leaving the JDM plant. its troof

Also each engine does not produce the estimated 480. It's different for each car. For some reason all the engine pumps out like 500 or above since theyre all handmade. So I can see why they're very careful.

they would have to prove that the oil messed up the car before they can refuse the warranty - there is a federal law for aftermarket parts.

Cuz it's not a typical car that you can just build and see what it looks like or something. That's what I heard. Sort of like Ferrari and if you want an Enzo or any high end you'd have to go to the dealer and talk to them

Mercedes does charge 150-200$ for an oil change, and does so because they are not limited production hand-built engines. Charging $560 for an oil change isn't that off-the wall compared to what you're spending the money on. And I really wish the people who are on so hard about the "It's still just a nissan" would realize that a Porsche is "still just a hotrodded Volkswagen." Porsche didn't even start making watercooled engines until ~relatively~ recently. Would you "It's still just a..." people be happier if they had brought it as an Infiniti? I mean a Lexus IS-F is STILL just a Toyota, right? Same with a Supra? And a Mustang is STILL just a ford, same people who brought you Crown Vic's, Focus and the fantastic Ford Taurus. Same with Corvettes.

Comparing it to something like a Ferrari is off, because the price differential to perfomance capability is just...well. It's funny. Period.
